Truth and transparency are essential ingredients in building AI systems that institutions can trust and own. The standard of the future is built by all of us: published evaluation methods, independent third-party testing, and universally shared measures of safety. aixplain supports open evaluation standards written in public and verified by independent third parties. It’s how we built, from Day One to today.

Dr. @monamhamdy, Chief Ethics Advisor, aixplain; discuss AI ethics at @solvemit Challenge Finals 2025 with @ayahbdeir, Senior Advisor, @mozilla; and @bragaroberta, Founder and Executive Director, @ddia_org; and moderator Daanish Masood Alavi, Independent Advisor on frontier AI alignment and Founder of Stealth.

Who gets to grade AI?

If we want AI we can trust, how we measure it matters just as much as how we build it. And there is no universal “best” model. The answer changes with the task, language, dialect, cost and context.

At aixplain we believe that nobody should grade their own exam. Benchmarking should be independent, transparent and grounded in the problem you’re actually trying to solve.

Benchmark the problem, and choose the model that fits- honestly, clearly, effectively.

Explore existing evaluations or benchmark models yourself at benchmark.aixplain.com.

This month, the aixplain team has been in Damascus. Planning the future, and building alongside our team on the ground.

This month, the aixplain team has been in Damascus, planning ahead and working with our team on the ground. at aixplain everyone is from everywhere, and a big part of us is in Damascus As our CEO @hsawaf said during the trip “You’re not starting from nothing. You’re starting from a country that took everything thrown at it and is still standing, still building.
The future of Syria and the future of the world are being written in the same room. And one day, when people ask where it started, they won’t say Silicon Valley. They’ll say Damascus.”

Would you choose an AI jury?

A throwback to our Chief Ethics Advisor, @monamhamdy, at @aspendigitalprogram last year, on the “Shared Futures: The Divine and the Digital” panel with @karaswisher

Most people say no. We sense a machine cannot carry mercy, context, or the understanding of what it means to be human.

But the other side is real too: a machine can be less swayed by the biases we each bring. As Mona puts it: “Therein is the double-edged sword of bias.”
This is the instinct we build around. AI can hold the process. But judgment always stays with you.

Our Chief Ethics Advisor Dr. @monamhamdy joined @malak_fouad_official on @what.i.did.next for a conversation about AI policy. A thoughtful look at where the rules are heading and what responsible AI looks like in practice.

” We say things like, AI’s gonna get really good. All the jobs are going to be gone, and you’re going to get something like a universal basic income, some kind of allowance for being human. That’s a policy. That is not a framework or a vision or a philosophy about what we want this technology to do.”
