Creating and opening Undefined Studios is one of the best things I’ve ever done.

Undefined is not a salon, it is a creative studio space that is open to any and all creative services.

Signing for a building that was nothing more than a foundation on the ground is probably the most terrifying and risky things I’ve ever done in my life, but I just had a gut feeling it was meant to be. I followed that intuition and I’m so glad I did!

In 2020 I started looking for studio spaces for Undefined. I searched for a year and nothing called to me.

So I stopped looking and decided to write out every single detail I wanted in a space.

Throughout this process I was training multiple times a month, taking a full clientele, retailing @lashboxla product, coaching, creating daily content, doing professional photoshoots every other week, creating courses and digital education, crying a lot, and my calculator was the number one most used app on my phone for months straight. 💀😂

I found this space online one day after a group training sitting in my guest room with my friend and it was nothing but an architectural mock up of a hypothetical building… but it was *everything* on my list.

I just knew.

So I took the leap and signed for it on august 11th at 1:11pm… it was a sign ✨

The building and design process was the most stressful adventure I’ve experienced thus far in my career. The what if’s, unknowns, roadblocks and hiccups, becoming fully rented while there wasn’t even walls up yet with nothing to show my renters other than design ideas, while still running all of the parts of my business on a daily basis.

Fast forward to now, we’ve been open for a year and a half- we’ve been fully rented with a waitlist since day 1, we house some of the most special, genuine, talented people I’ve ever met, and this year we were nominated for Best In The Willamette Valley 🥹

Undefined is a dream come true for me. I knew my goal going in to this career would be to one day own a studio and little did I know that it would happen so soon.

Looking back, I realize more and more how even the smallest things that we think are insignificant in the moment, actually make the largest difference. ✨ by @monarchlashco

Eeee I’m so little kid giddy over the transformations this course is giving students! Like 🤯 full on transformations immediately and I’m shook.

Ugh I’m just so in love with helping you.

I *know* in my deepest soul you can have retention like this and you never have to question it again…and… you deserve it!

I priced this course to be accessible to any and all business success levels- whether you have 5 clients or 50 clients, this course is priced cheaper than one full set. Or maybe for you it’s only 2 fills, or maybe 2 full sets. Regardless, look at your schedule for tomorrow. Do you have two appointments booked? Then it’s affordable for you!

This course is a few hours worth for a 180° retention transformation… why would you wait? The sooner you learn it, the sooner you’ll see results!

If you feel called to me and this course, no matter your experience level, this course was made for you with you in mind. ❤️‍🔥

I love you so big. Thank you for allowing me to serve you!

I’m Erin 🫶🏻

I am the owner of Monarch Lash Co., a lash service and lash academy.

I am also the owner of Undefined Studios @undefinedstudios.salem, a creative studio collective- home to some of the most talented service providers in Oregon.

I am an online course creator with an academy that has reached 52 countries and counting, and served thousands of lash artists.

I am an in-person lash educator, having taught hundreds of lash artists from all over the world.

I am a lash business mentor.

I am a @lashboxla product retailer.

I am a UGC creator.

And…. I am still a full time lash artist.

While I am immensely proud of all of those things, and could only dream of being able to type those a few years ago… I didn’t start here.

I started MLC while working two other jobs. I was a full time caregiver with the developmentally disabled community, as well as an MLM consultant(for a workout company and a pearl company). I worked 7 days a week, before sun up to past sun down. During beauty school I didn’t have a single day off for 9 weeks, had one day off, then went another 4 weeks for a day off, 12hr days. Rest days did not exist in my world starting this career and for years into it.

I eventually quit my 9-5 once my clientele with lashes had grown to a full time, sustainable level… then I had knee surgery right after that took me out of being able to work or lash. As I was getting in the car from surgery, I got a call we were moving houses.

Once I was healed and was back to lashing full time, I surprisingly had to get another knee surgery. The day after this surgery, I viewed and signed a lease to move my lash business to a whole new city.

After working 7 days a week as a lash artist for years, I built Undefined Studios from the ground up. We have now been open for over 2 years, fully rented since before we had 4 walls on the building, and have been nominated best in the Willamette Valley.

My heart for the lash industry grows every day. My entire mission is to serve lash artists. To make your lives easier, to help you build a career to feed your family and some, to encourage you that you CAN have your dream career.

If I can do it, you absolutely can. ❤️

My first attempt at a Foxy YY set 👀
Save this to try!

I learned some things during this set, that might make your foxy styling easier ✨

1. Foxy sets can be flattering for most eyes. This clients’ upper eyelid shape is actually downturned and generally a cat eye wouldn’t be what I would recommend for her shaping. But this set lifted her outer corner beautifully!

2. Stick to shorter lengths. Nothing above 12-13mm as a general rule, if you are wanting that eyeliner foxy style. Longer lengths will give you more textured wispiness and look slightly less uniform. I love that look too! Just depends what style you’re wanting to achieve.

3. Angle the inner corners at a 100°-145° angle. Generally when I am creating a perfect line map, I lash inner corners at 90° and graduate to 145° as I move towards the outer corner to create that beautiful swoop effect! But with foxy sets, the angling should start much closer to the inner corner.

4. These lashes do the texture and angled effect for you! This style is very forgiving! The only thing you need to focus on is which length you’re placing on each lash, curl choice, and placing the fan at the right angle on the natural lash. Easy peasy! I was very surprised at how much work was removed using these!

5. Retention has been great! Just as good as handmade fans, which y’all knowwww I love my handmade fans 🤭 but I was genuinely impressed with these and actually enjoy working with them!

6. There is a longer, thicker side to the fan. That side should always be facing outward. Meaning, if you’re looking at the tray of lash strips, the left side strips are for the left eye, right side strips are for the right eye. So you will have two strips of the same length on your tile and lash each eye with a different strip!

Overall, I’m loving how forgiving these sets are. It covers a lot of popular desired effects in a set! Wispy, textured, structured, shapely, eye brightening, fullness, natural or glam… the list goes on with the possibilities! 😍

My map-

This moment last year at @thelashconference is one that I will never forget.

I had the privilege of closing out the @pla_lash Hero Headquarters with my class on the science of lash rehab (Comment “Class” and I’ll send it to you) and it was the most electric energy that absolutely hit me in my softest emotional center. 🥹

What you don’t see in this video is me being inside the classroom mentally preparing, taking a few last second deep breaths, sitting on the floor, and all of a sudden hearing a crowd of people chanting my name. Everyone in the room that was helping prepare swag bag handouts and resetting the room, stopped in their tracks. I had been inside the classroom prepping and had no idea there had been a growing line almost down to the elevators for nearly an hour before my class. I immediately welled up and felt so humbled.

The other part you can’t see in this video was the multiple ROWS of lash artists sitting on the ground, shoulder to shoulder, in front of me and lining the side walls because we ran out of seats. Like @tresslarson said, this room was literally packed out! 😭

So many supportive teary eyes looking back at me, so many hugs, SO many aha moments, and so many messages detailing the impact of this class for those that attended. My heart. 😭

I got to greet everyone that walked through the door, handed out swag bags and was so overwhelmed with the sheer amount of outpouring of love and support for myself and this new online masterclass debut. This moment reminded me why I do what I do and moved me to my core. Anyone who was in this room could feel it.

I am so grateful, every single day, that this is the community I get to be a part of. Truly some of the greatest people I have ever met. ✨

One more week until we reunite, and this year I will be speaking FOUR times. You can find me in @pla_lash Hero Headquarters again, as well as doing live instructional demos on the tradeshow floor! 💖 I can’t wait to hug everyone! by @monarchlashco

Share this as a visual for your clients! You don’t know what you can’t see-

Based on real life events 👀

No actually, the amount of times this exact conversation has been had on my lash bed would make deja vu proud haha! 🤪

And here’s the thing…

My client wasn’t lying! She really DID wash her lashes… many times in fact because this was from days prior!

So what happened?

1. She wore wax/stick eyeliner. Wax eyeliner is not lash extension friendly! It’s thick and STICKS to every nook and cranny of those lashes and lash line. It also closes fans right up. Notice how even after multiple washes after wearing the eyeliner her lashes still won’t pop back? 👀 liquid eyeliner only!

2. The angle she was holding her brush when she was washing her lashes was flat, not straight up and down- meaning those bristles weren’t able to get between each lash. Don’t hold your cleansing brush like you’re applying eyeshadow- it should be straight up and down(end of the brush to the sky) to allow the bristles to sandwich between each hair.

3. Lash artists always have a different point of view. There is nothing that can be hidden from us 😂

When I told my client she still had eyeliner on, she didn’t believe me until I showed her this video and explained what to do to mitigate this moving forward. And it never happened again!

Some times visualizing the issue is all it takes. So I give you permission to save this video and show it to your clients the next time you need to show what makeup looks like left over! 🫶🏻 by @monarchlashco

Yo, wanna know the truth?

Mapping a set of lashes takes observing so much more than a lash line.

When I learned how to map a set, I was told “just match the length of the natural lash, if it’s a long natural lash place a longer extension, if it’s a short natural lash place a short extension”… back in the days of .20 classic lashes 🥴 you can imagine the mess of the final result…

Since then, I mainly hear mapping being taught as it relates to the lash line, eye shape, eye plane/pitch, eye setting, etc. but I think mapping a lash set is from jawline to hairline, it should take into consideration the entire face shape.

My mental mapping observes the face and how the lash set is going to either offset or create balance from a distance, not just close up. 😋

I haven’t spoken exclusively on my mapping technique and I’m so excited to be doing just that in Australia at @thelashsummit.australia at the end of May 🥹😍

We are going far beyond what a regular mapping class covers 👀🥵

Ps. This set was created with @parislashacademy J curl .03 lashes and I’m obsessed that flatter curls are making their way back 🤩

Should I release a mapping class? 🤔 by @monarchlashco

It’s been over a year since I moved to Reno to do product development and global compliance for @parislashacademy and as I reflect on my time in this industry, the more I realize just *how* many valuable things I have learned.

Aside from owning a product line, I have journeyed nearly every other road of this industry that most artists navigate down. Some lasted longer than others, but I learned what I believe I was meant to in each facet.

A few lessons(to sum some up):

-The grass is greener where you water it.
Burn out can often drive the mental bus and it’s easy to see another “thing” and think *that* must be easier/better/funner/etc. but the truth is, constantly looking outside of where you’re at will never give you a sense of fulfillment or perceived success.

-Status doesn’t pay your bills. Visibility does.
It can be an easy ego-pit to fall into seeking more followers, more attention, being an “influencer”, etc. but don’t lose sight that visibility is the marketing of your business, not to be an ego boost. Are your numbers reflecting your time effort in marketing? Being an influencer and having influence are very different. Stay mindful.

-Just because it looks like the thing you’re “suppose” to do, doesn’t mean it makes sense to do.

-Intuition has never led me astray.
Listen to where you’re guided, what you are naturally drawn to, areas that feel uncomfortable or “off”. Some times the thing that makes sense, doesn’t feel right. Never be afraid to pivot if something begins feeling misaligned. Don’t question your intuition.

-Ebs and flows will exist.
In so so many ways, there will be ups and downs. Plan for them. Save for them. Learn to utilize them as tools to push you and your business forward in every season- they are both beneficial.

-Save. Money.

-Make decisions with a 10-20+ year mindset.
Short term decisions will keep a glass ceiling over you and growth will be capped. Planning farther ahead will expand your considerations.

There’s LOTS more I can name. But at the end of the day, everyone’s journey will look different. If you can use some of mine to boost you forward, I’m here for it! 🫶🏻 by @monarchlashco

9/10 times it’s me and @michellenguyenpla sitting on the floor in her office, barefoot, after hours, making dirty jokes and laughing hysterically, brainstorming what inherent issues the product(s) have, how we can solve it, what we can create that the industry is absent of, the roadmap on creating it, and her feeding me weird foods the entire time… and I wouldn’t change it for the world. 🥹

This is where the magic happens. In the seemingly most minuscule moments.

I am so freaking excited for the products we are creating in 2026 👀

This is my life?! Pinch me!

J curl has entered the chat! 🤩🤤

This was my first full set using all J curl, and I used @parislashacademy Limitless J curl tray, because duhhh 👌🏻😏 look at the darkness and buttery finish? Hellloooooo?! I’m drooling!

J curl is awesome for the foxy eyeliner effect, or bottom lashes! And for that reason, they are available in shorty 5-8mm mixed trays too! 😍🤌🏻

I loved fanning J curl so much! It’s so satisfying!

These are a must stock in 2026 for the upcoming trends, in my opinion 💕 by @monarchlashco
