ROSLYN - Maxwell lodge was built in 1926 and is one of twelve similar but unique multi-residential inter-war flats with a planted courtyard thoroughfare traversing them. Built by Arthur William Coleman in an intensive period of residential flat development in Kings Cross in the 1920s, this cluster of structures occupies what was initially one site with a single private home known as Goderich Lodge. Its owner committed suicide in 1841 after his business affairs soured in the depression and his son subdivided the land to repay his fathers debts. We renovated within this context to bring historic materials and details inside while also introduction silly and splendid surprises. Another beautiful image made by @traianos, thanks to @griiffgriiffgriiff by @mone____studio

from the rooftop of ROSLYN, @traianos made this image that could almost be absolutely anywhere but what is beautiful about it being right here is that in a tiny home in the middle of a densely populated suburb and city, there are always scenes of abstract calm by @mone____studio

ROSLYN… half of this home is spangled with a warm dose of hot pinks, fleshy neutrals, deep reds, earthy terracotta’s, sunshine and soft yellows, spotted gum and oregon. In contrast, the sleepy space is calm and cool. A peaceful white alcove for only a bed, two tiny artworks and a basic pendant light by @mone____studio

ROSLYN… we pulled the pink kitchen out of its nook and played on its materials with stained pink plywood and reclaimed travertine, threw a fleshy gloss exhaust cabinet up on the wall and made a little reading nook beside the daybed. ROSLYN is a tiny yet carefully crafted renovation to a 23 square metre studio nestled between Rushcutters Bay and Kings Cross. We created a new tall cabinet that is accessed from all sides to serve the kitchen, laundry and living areas it faces. The stained pink plywood embraces the barbie pink kitchen already existing and extends it through the studio. Image made by the marvellous @traianos . We sourced and transformed beautiful reclaimed materials from @secondeditionau - spotted gum floorboards, Oregon, travertine and stone offcuts, and a yellow concrete sink. Custom joinery and furniture by @ellismurray6, sunny shower curtain by @phimisterbrown, floors and early work by Sam Griffith & Kazu Noguchi Quill by @mone____studio
