If you brave enough to venture thru the tenderloin, you’ll be rewarded with some of the best food. 2nd time at Mộng Thu Cafe, first time I had chicken pho and it was so good. I saw the table with this Vietnamese Style Churng Fun looking dish and I knew I had to come back and try it. Very similar to a vermicelli bowl, but they use churng fun instead. Nuoc Mum on point, shrimp on point, cured pork on point. Definitely different than my usual combo / chicken pho, but life’s short, try new dishes, explore the endless noms in the Bay. “Okay y’all already know the banh mi places that get all the praise in the neighborhood, but let me put you on the REAL best banh mi in SF! This place is the real deal man, it’s been flying under the radar. The pork meatball (banh mi xiu mai) is literally one of the best sandwiches in SF…”

We are back open today so come on through! Another year of celebrations was had at mama’s — complete with cà ri gà (chicken curry), thịt kho trứng (braised pork & eggs), canh khổ qua (stuffed bitter melon soup), chả trứng chiên (egg pork omelette), and all the pickled things! Broke out the cards, bầu cua cá nai set @allthingsmeng made, and even debuted pirinola toma todo (introduced to us from @memorysignco a few years ago)- a Mexican top game to gamble with our lì xì (red envelope) money with 💸 it was a hit! As usual, we were too caught up in the fun to take more photos 🤭
