One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in SF. The food tastes just like home cooking. Love seeing a family owned small business here. It feels like visiting a friend’s mom’s house. ❤️🍲

Found solid red wrapping paper from @scrapsf just in time for Tết! I painted a lil banner for our apartment door and a biggie for the Lunar New Year party my mom hosts every year…just for us to cover it anyway in photos because we be rolling too deep 😅 another year of feasting and chaos with my family in a cramped ass house and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Wishing everyone a prosperous year with good health, love, and happiness 🧨🎊🧧🎉🐍❤️ Chúc mừng năm mới! #alwayshandpaint #alwayshandpainted #handpaint #handpainted #chucmungnammoi #chúcmừngnămmới #tet #tết #aodai #áodài #nguyening

Once you notice Meng Nguyễn’s (@allthingsmeng) handiwork, you start seeing it everywhere around the Bay Area. Of all her hand-painted signs, the most personal is on a small storefront on Hyde Street underneath an SRO. Mộng Thu Vietnamese Cafe is family-run oasis for bánh mi and noodles in the Tenderloin. Chronicle restaurant critic MacKenzie Chung Fegan writes, “Eating at Mộng Thu Cafe is like being welcomed into the Nguyễns’ home. Consider this review my thank-you note; I would like to be invited back.” Read @mackenzie_fegan review at the link in our bio. 📸: @minhconnors

Woke up to congratulatory messages from hella friends, all y’all read it before I did! Thank you so much @mackenzie_fegan for this beautiful write-up on my mom’s lil cafe @mongthusf! I did not expect this headline either! Thank you for highlighting both of our work and sharing our story. Had some laughs and definitely fought some tears going through it. It’s already making the rounds in our family and currently being translated so we can properly showcase it with all of our parents amongst us cousins. We appreciate you MacKenzie & @minhconnors for taking the time out to hear us out & capturing these sweet photos! Even my @signsbymeng scooter made it in the lineup 🛵💨 Read the rest on their site or when it prints in the food section next next Sunday! Thank you @jeffreysincich & Ping for sending MacKenzie our way! Big thanks to everyone who has ever supported @mongthusf and I! She lives to cook and will never get over people enjoying her food ❤️🍜❤️ ‘93 til infinity! 📰: @sfchronicle @sfchronicle_food ✍️: @mackenzie_fegan 📸: @minhconnors
