Thank you @kisbogarutonjar for the super article on @deltaplaneco about the record flight! 🙏🥳
I may be doing an English version fairly soon. And an @avianhanggliders Puma DXL review for those interested.

The article: https://delta.ffvl.fr/content/attention-saint-andr%C3%A9-les-alpes-est-ferm%C3%A9-du-4-au-19-septembre

I've managed to extract a few pics but need to make space to edit the videos...😅😂

Tadaaaa!

Finally after much mulling over and strategizing over the past two winters working at @avianhanggliders I've managed to claim my first national distance record! 🥳🥳🥳
This has been a goal of mine for a while and actually I hadn't been thinking about this flight specifically till this week when I realised the previous record held by my friend Alex was easily within reach. The weather window opened and I had one day before leaving for the Netherlands. Seized the opportunity with fellow XC maniacs from the club, got ready and got it done!

The main goal was out and return to dormiousse. I also wanted to push 200km but that means crossing the lake and potentially having a hard time getting back. As there were no clouds north I chose the safer option to get back even though I was an hour ahead of my schedule. I faffed around quite a bit trying things like pushing to 4000m max alt but kept losing it at 3975m😭...
Next time 200km is easily attainable within early August.

It's not only satisfying to claim a record, but also with a wing one worked to design and built from start to finish. I can only say that the Puma DXL is probably the best sport class glider around and really makes the best out of an optimised line.

Happy to still have all my teeth! 😂😅👀

That was a close shave induced by a pretty poor approach in strong wind. Corrected my mistake, will not do that again. 😅

Gassed to have fullfiled a super successful test flying campaign for @avianhanggliders !🦅

2 big objectives were achieved in 8/9 flying days:

- testing many tweaks to the new Puma to get a well balanced, stable and easily manoeuvrable high performance glider. No longer trading stability for manoeuvrability. The winglets were found super beneficial without hurting performance in any obvious way. Now to production so that more people can taste this lovely machine for the next season! Get in touch if you are interested! 🔥

- the first hop of the wildcat! Without any wind and the small surface of this innovation packed high performance prototype, I just managed to sprint hard enough down the hill to get airborne. This is only the beginning of testing but it proves that this radical machine CAN fly, is pitch stable enough four now and doesn't turn. A lot can still be improved but we've come a long way in the past 2 years, and the celebrations are justified! 🥳

I can't thank Tim enough for the trust he put in me on these projects and for how much I've learnt in our time together. It is a real privilege for me to be part of this historic effort in hang gliding development.🙏

Thank you to the whole Avian dev team. Without their considérable efforts, none of this would have been possible. 🙏
