She’s Green is one of my favorite new shoegaze bands. I got to see them in San Jose during PolaCon Bay Area in March. It was a spur of the moment adventure, racing to catch trains and nearly getting lost in an unfamiliar city. The show was amazing and the band are all-around lovely people.

She’s Green is on tour with Turnover and Narrow Head right now and they play Arcata tonight. If you can’t see them in Arcata I hope you can see them when they come through a town near you! taken in The Ritz, San Jose by @monodistortion

I have a photo in a group photo exhibit at Lee’s Launderette in San Francisco. Lee’s Launderette is a new art space in the Mission District and this instant photography show, entitled When the Moment Presents Itself, is its first.

The opening is today (Friday, March 6) from 5:30-8pm and the show goes through April 19, 2026.

Thank you to the organizers, Danny Sanchez, Niniane Kelley, and Brian Brooks! taken in Mission District by @monodistortion

This song was kicking around for years before I joined The Von Trapps in various incarnations, with different lyrics and vocal melodies. It shows up on the Rock Hits cassette from 1999 as “In a Day”. For a long while it was just called “Pop Song”. And then after this version was recorded for our EP we settled on “Go With Me”.

I started taking travel photos with our CD EP last year (2025) for fun. After the first few photos I thought it might make a fun music video, or at least reflect the manic energy of the song.

Hey my old band’s EP from 2002, This is The Von Trapps, is available on streaming services! I recorded this video in May of 2025 so it’s pretty out of date, but the 4 song EP was released in May and an additional album of rarities came out in late 2025/early 2026. I’ll put links in the Instagram story highlights. by @monodistortion

I got to visit Seattle, see some old friends, and saw Mo Dotti and Pink Breath of Heaven several times. The trip wore me out but was 100% worth it.

I got to see Mo Dotti at Slide Away Fest in LA over a year ago. Now it’s a dream come true to have them come play in Arcata at Outer Space in a couple days.

When I was growing up in this small town the only way you could see your favorite bands was to travel to San Francisco or even further. We’re really lucky to have Outer Space as an all-volunteer, all-ages venue to host music events and many other community events and meetings.

For the last couple months I’ve been pouring my energy into organizing this show, so if you’re in the area I hope you can make it to see and hear Mo Dotti up close, along with some of my favorite local musicians, octobercountry and Mold! taken in Outer Space Arcata by @monodistortion

I was able to see Alison’s Halo once in Mesa, AZ back in 1995. (I also missed seeing them twice in one day… but that’s another story.) Getting to see them play again in 2025, 30 years later, bigger and stronger than ever, was seriously amazing. They’re on tour now so don’t miss your chance to catch them live!
