A Cosmos of Artefacts

I’ve been learning ikebana for about a year now, though I wouldn’t dare to truly call it ikebana. Still, I found so much joy in creating this floral sculpture within my ceramic shell.

Some of my ceramic creatures — tableware and a few incense holders — are available this week at the pastry & coffee shop 🤍

And I warmly invite you to come and taste the mochis ✨

• Shell Vessel
A sculptural bowl fired on coquilles Saint-Jacques, carrying their fossilised imprint within its form. The surface reveals traces of contact ~ memories sealed in fire ~ like a quiet archaeology of the making process.
Its undulating edges echo marine softness, while the glaze flows in mineral veins, shifting between seafoam, stone, and ash. Both delicate and raw, it feels like something discovered rather than made.

• Petals Dancer Vase
A fluid, almost corporeal form where petals seem to move in a suspended dance. The rim opens like a blooming gesture.

Tenderness in a silk dress

Ceramics has taught me to embrace natural imperfections; my layered, chaotic glazes give each piece its own life

No longer seeing cracks as flaws, but as features that belong to my ceramic creatures

Letting go of control & expectations, cherishing what clay has to offer
