This one hits close to home. So close, in fact, that it’s inside my head and lungs, etc.

I set up at a show in St Louis last weekend and contracted the flu. (Even got my flu shot about a month ago.) 😷 Nasty little bug put me on the couch for about 1.5 days.

Nothing to do but sleep, cough, hydrate, watch tv, and lay on the couch with a blanket.

Speaking of, got this WaJo B18 recently. It’s a relatively inexpensive Walter Johnson item that I’ve wanted for a while. NSF until I can upgrade it.

Are you there, collectors? It’s me, Monster.

When you’re talking YA, I’ll go with the classics from Judy Blume.

“Green Grass and High Tides” by The Outlaws. This song is a scorcher, but generally too long for radio play.

Finally added some ungraded 1952 Topps high numbers back to the inventory over the weekend. They go pretty quickly. Didn’t see a water issue with the Turner in the crappy card show lighting, but that happens.

Classic!

Common joke, rare card. With only 17 graded at this level, it’s not likely you’ll see more of them after today!

#WhiteSox are playing some inspired ball this postseason! Happy to see them representing Chicago since the Cubs bowed out with barely a whimper.

Cool old postcard that includes HOFers George Davis and studly Ed Walsh. I don’t mind writing on the back of these postcards from the early 1900s… seeing an old stamp and a few words shared between friends or fam back in the day, but this back is clean!

If you thought I would pair these with Smashmouth… 😂

Freakin awesome cards that I never mange to land. Rare as heck; I’ve pointed out the pop numbers. Proud to throw these in the showcases, and hopefully they’ll attract some more!

Which Russell am I taking into a fight with me? Easy…Keri Russell and not the 6’10” 215 lb Bill Russell. What an ass-kicker!

I could (and have, and will) watch this clip over and over. “Tell them your face is a present!” is a HIGHLY quoted line in this household.

Anyway. Nice card too.

Well, that’s a wrap on the Cubs 2026 season.

To usher them out, we have 3-finger Brown on a rare T204 issue. But we only need one finger to express how we really feel. Thanks for the model, Old Hoss.

Grounded for … Lipe!

First, Grounded for Life might be THE MOST UNDERRATED show of all time. Absolute banger of a comedy. Love the formula of a weird moment and then the flashback/explainer of how the family got there. Consistently delivered the laughs.

Next, for your viewing pleasure, a very clean #southernleague Perry Lipe. Allegedly trimmed, though you could argue it’s just sharp and clean. Beauty for any eye-appeal friends out there.
