Did you spot our new logo in our crowdfund video? We caught up with @ecclesrugby incredibly talented @chrisgaffey for some insight into the creative thinking behind the design. ‘The new, reinvigorated Monton Village Community Association identity is a development of the existing outdated logo which featured a row of green trees. In this new interpretation, the image of a tree is retained but restyled to provide a fresh, distinctive expression representing growth, energy, life, vitality; stability, structure and shelter, with the leaves representing our diverse, colourful community of connected traders and residents (gathered around the network of Parrin Ln, Folly Ln, Monton Rd, Canal Bank and their offshoots) The simplicity of the design and the bold type font are intended to make a statement that balances history and modernity. The black background is inspired by the ironwork of the village community notice board.’ We wholeheartedly thank Chris for volunteering his time and talent for the good of our village. HELLO MONTON! IT'S THE WEEKEND! That's one thing to celebrate, but we've got some more good news for you too! We're delighted to announce that Monton's Jingle Mingle is BACK for another year! Our flagship Christmas event is one of our favourite times of the year, bringing our wonderful community together, raising funds to help fund our lights and for a little festive magic right in the heart of Monton. We'll have all your Jingle Mingle favourites, including Santa, festive market stalls and a few surprises up our sleeves too! 🎄🎄SAVE THE DATE: SATURDAY 28TH NOVEMBER! 🎄🎄 And as always, we'll be looking for some lovely volunteers to help us bring the magic to life! There are plenty of ways to get involved, so if you fancy lending a hand and being part of something special for our community, we'd love to hear from you. Just drop us a message! Wow, wow, wow! We think we’ve only just recovered from the Jingle Mingle on Saturday! What a day. Here's a snapshot of the day with some of our favourite photos, including just a few (that we managed to get snaps of!) of the brilliant people who helped bring it all to life, our wonderful volunteers. A massive thank you again to @theworksmonton for rallying such an incredible volunteer crew, and an even bigger thank you to every single one of you who came along. Your smiles, your patience (as we navigated big crowds across the day!), and your generosity meant the world. We do this for you, and we’re so grateful for the support you show us year after year and all money raised goes back into our community and continues to light up Monton at Christmas. It's finally here. We can’t wait to welcome you today from 12! And for our final Monton Jingle Mingle partner spotlight, say hello to @theworksmonton Tucked away at the bottom of Lansdowne Road at Protector Lamp Business Park, The Works is more than a gym; it’s a true Monton community hub. A place where neighbours become workout buddies, confidence grows, and everyone’s cheered on by name. With friendly classes, group PT, 1-2-1 coaching and open-gym sessions, they make fitness feel welcoming for every level, inclusive, supportive and proudly Monton through and through. Patrick and Georgia have built something special: a space that brings people together and gets them moving. Give them a follow or message them about booking a session. A massive shout-out to The Works team and members for helping us rally so many volunteers for Jingle Mingle day. We couldn’t do it without you today! See you all from 12. ONE MORE SLEEP! The Monton elves have been very busy and were nearly ready for you tomorrow! A reminder of some key details for tomorrow. This is our flagship fundraising event and every penny goes back into the comittee to help put on future events, expand and illuminate our Christmas lights and much more! So, please donate what you can when you arrive and throughout your visit. Key areas: **CHURCH** 🎅🏻 Santa. Please arrive at the church main entrance for your visit at your allotted time but make sure, before or after you visit our... 🛍️ Stalls. We have some great stalls tomorrow from a range of local businesses. The monton mega raffle is back! You can buy tickets at the MVCA stall for £1. We will share more details on prizes tomorrow! 🎨 Facepainting is available for your little ones in the church too! **CHURCH HALL** 🍷Mulled wine, mince pies and hot choice with cream and marshmallows is available! We have seating for you to enjoy. 💌 We have Santas letters for your little ones to fill out as well as reindeer food and sweet cones for you to purchase. 🕷️Spiderman will be with us from 1-3pm! ❄️ Elsa will be arriving at 3 and will be available for meet and greets until 4. After that she will be leading a Frozen singalong. Frozen fancy dress is encouraged! Finally if you can spare a tin or two, we are collecting for the mustards tree on the day as well as the mission Christmas toy appeal so please donate if you can! Thanks to their generosity, every child will receive a Christmas selection box keeping this cherished tradition alive.   If you’re moving in Monton, Eccles, or Salford, the Thornley Groves team offers friendly, local expertise across sales and lettings with real conversations and no hard sell.   A huge thank you to Thornley Groves for helping make this year’s Santa’s Grotto possible.
