Ad | Would you go canoeing with all your children in one canoe? 👀🚣🏾‍♀️

I know most of you are going to say “absolutely not!” 😂 And honestly, that would’ve been my answer too! The only reason I felt comfortable is because we’ve been canoeeing before.

But don’t write this lovely activity off! Grab a friend or plan it with family so you can enjoy it together and feel a bit more confident on the water.

This is one family day out we won’t be forgetting anytime soon! 💙 Children of all ages are welcome (even babies! 🤯), and we finished the day with dinner at Barge East, which was the perfect ending.

[AD] This was such a fun way to spend a sunny weekend! 🌞🚣 We honestly had the best time exploring East London from the water.

One thing I wasn’t expecting was how family-friendly it is. We saw some very young children taking part, and while there’s no minimum age, little ones do need to be happy sitting calmly in the canoe. As long as you have one strong paddler at the back (thankfully my husband volunteered 😂), everyone else can enjoy the ride. My son definitely helped more than I did though!

The safety briefing is short but worth paying attention to, especially the tips on steering and turning. We may or may not have learned that part the hard way... 🤣 Life jackets are provided, and you’ll need to sign a waiver before setting off.

It’s such a lovely activity for families, friends or even a birthday celebration. Afterwards, we headed to Barge East for food and drinks, which is one of our favourite spots in East London. The atmosphere there is always so good.

good to know:
✨ Toilets are on site (definitely use them before you head out! 😂)
✨ Small storage is available, so travel light.
✨ We parked at St Mark’s Gate Car Park, around a 10-minute walk away, although it’s also just a short walk from Hackney Wick station.

This is definitely something we’d do again. An easy 10/10 from us! 💚
