Exploring East London from the water is something you definitely need to do at least once and lucky for you Moo Canoes offers the perfect experience 🤩

You can choose from canoes, kayaks or paddleboards with prices starting from just £15pp! We decided to go for canoeing and headed out along the canal at our own pace. This is a very beginner-friendly activity with little experience needed! Plus they give you everything you need (including a buoyancy aid) before you set off 🙌🏼

You can book for one, two or three hours depending on how adventurous you’re feeling (or how much you trust your upper body strength 😂) and it’s such a good activity for a sunny day, a date or a unique catchup with friends!

And obviously you have to reward all that paddling with delicious food afterwards 😍 Barge East is literally next door, so you can hop straight off the water and head over for food and drinks in their gorgeous riverside setting 🍹

Recreational water sports followed by dinner and drinks by the water? Such a cute London day out and definitely one to save for when the sun is shining ☀️ {invite}

East London pub paddle! Explore the Lee Navigation from Hackney Wick to Clapton with Anu from @mysupstories 🍻

Save our easy route to a riverside pub in Clapton. The perfect way to enjoy the city as we head into autumn 🍂

Paddle past the Olympic Park and beneath the ArcelorMittal Orbit, then watch the city gradually give way to the open green spaces of Hackney Marshes before reaching the Princess of Wales pub.

With no locks or portages, it’s a beginner-friendly route to enjoy as the seasons start to change.

📍 Launch: Hackney Wick

🍻 Finish: Princess of Wales pub, Clapton

🚆 Public transport: London Overground – Hackney Wick station (5 min walk)

🛶 Distance: 3.7 miles (return)

⏰ Time: 1.5–2 hours

🪪 Waterways licence required, included within Paddle UK membership

🚧 Locks/portages: 0

Launch at Hackney Wick near @moocanoes and paddle north along the Lee Navigation, leaving the Olympic Park behind as you head towards Hackney Marshes.

As the route opens out, look for wildlife, boat dwellings and walkers along the Capital Ring towpath before reaching the Princess of Wales pub.

Stop here for a drink or bite to eat, soak up the riverside views, then turn around and paddle back to Hackney Wick.

Perfect for SUPs and inflatable kayaks. Don't have your own craft? Can hire your equipment from Paddle UK Delivery Partner Moo Canoes at the start.

🗺️ Find the full route and plan your paddle on PaddlePoints: gopaddling.info/paddlepoints

Just search 'Hackney Wick' or tap the link in our bio to find the route.

Thanks to Anu for another great London paddle!

35 sacks of rubbish. 80+ people. And we actually ran out of rubbish to collect. 💚

Our latest community canal clean-up was fully booked and a smash hit — despite the threat of rain — with local residents, businesses, partners and stakeholders coming together to look after our bit of the waterway & and enjoy a drink on us!

And clearing 35 big sacks of rubbish isn't just about making the canal look nicer.

It means safer water for boaters and those using the canal, a better environment for the people who live on the water, and a hugely better habitat for the wildlife that depends on it.

One of our favourite things to see was people arriving on their own and quickly finding litter-picking buddies, sharing canoes and getting stuck in together.

Then, eventually, we ran out of rubbish.

That's a pretty good problem to have.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, paddled, picked and helped make our corner of East London a better place and our neighbours @moocanoes for getting all of you amazing volunteers out on the water.

This is what booking through adventuro looks like 🌞🫶

That’s the whole idea. Every adventure on here is run by people who know their patch of the world properly, so you turn up and just enjoy it. This one happened to start at the Milk Float in Hackney and end somewhere down Regent’s Canal.

Next week it might be a via ferrata, or a paddleboard at sunrise, or something you’ve never heard of. Same feeling either way.

Introducing the VolCANOE team 🛶

We took to the waterways of Hackney Wick with the brilliant @moocanoes , collecting litter, clearing floating debris and doing our bit for the local environment.

Days like this are a great reminder of why we care about the waterways we work and live alongside, and the responsibility we all share in protecting the places that make up our local community.

A huge thank you to Moo Canoes for having us. We left the canal a little cleaner and, somehow, nobody fell in. A successful day all round.
