Acceleration, Redirected! Kyiv, 28-30 August 2026.

Over the final weekend of August, we gathered artists, designers, researchers, technologists and emerging founders outside Kyiv for a two-day mini-accelerator for cultural first movers.

Together we moved ideas towards prototypes, products and ventures. We also worked on the question of what should happen next for the emerging founder archetype that is operating at the intersection of subculture and emerging technology.

The programme was led by @moon_emjoi for @restlesseggstudio, in close collaboration with @bognamk and @sonyakvasha / @baby___prod.

Special guest @dalenaxtran joined @otherstuff_sam for a live @fuserstudio session, showing how Fuser's open, node-based canvas brings creative tools, models and ideas together across media and @bognamk traced the history and future of Eastern European technology, locating this cohort of cultural first movers within that trajectory. Shared throughout the programme was remarkable food, an amazing venue and conversations whilst stargazing.

Thank you to everyone who travelled, brought work in progress, asked difficult questions, presented, cooked, hosted, photographed, organised and made the weekend so amazing :).

Y Combinator does not have a monopoly on the idea of a startup school, nor on the kinds of people or ideas such a school should be built for.

Increasingly, designers, artists and creative technologists are transforming experimental technocultural practices into powerful prototypes, products and ventures.

For this reason, I’m very happy to share that I / @restlesseggstudio am joining Goldsmiths’ School of Computing as a Visiting Research Fellow.

When @dia_mond_rf and I began discussing this, we had an idea to pair what I’ve been building at Restless Egg with a university bold enough to begin institutionalizing the merger of computational creativity and creative entrepreneurship.

During the fellowship, we’ll explore whether the lessons emerging from this new class of practitioners and founders can be distilled and backpropagated into a formal path of study.

This will be a live experiment between Goldsmiths and Restless Egg, taking shape through talks, workshops, sprints and whatever else proves useful.

We want the wider community to be involved, so please reach out if you have ideas or would like to participate!

Announcing “Acceleration, Redirected!” — a two-day mini-accelerator taking place in Kyiv this August, led by @moon_emjoi of Restless Egg and partners in Ukraine, @bognamk and @baby___prod

The programme features workshops, small-group work, and prototyping for early experiments that are ready to evolve into pitches, products, ventures, or other new forms of practice.

It is for people carrying the seed of an idea, whether from art, technology, research, journalism, defence, culture, or somewhere in between, who want to spend two intensive days testing what it could become.

The aim is to give contemporary intensity a practical release valve: into prototypes, tools, paths toward productisation, and ventures that can be built and carried forward.

The eggs are in LA!

Come this Friday, April 17 for a happy hour celebrating artist-founders with @fuserstudio 🥚

Also, we’ll be at @sciarc (same Friday) at 4 p.m where @moon_emjoi will be speaking about cybernetics—its history, meaning, and philosophical implications—in light of the term’s recent rise in popularity.

Today, learn more about Biotopy: A Biotic Game and Interactive Installation by Wendi Yan, Darran Zhu and Will Freudenheim.

Biotopy is a game and pipeline connecting bioreactors to a game engine, where players can grow microbes by caring for a virtual “blobby pet.”
