A spectre is [once again] haunting Europe — the spectre of a new avant-garde technoculture...

In a new feature for @bigthinkers, Thomas Moynihan traces a line from everyone’s favorite intellectual cult, the CCRU, to what we’re building at @restlesseggstudio. He and @moon_emjoi go from Karl Marx’s grave at Highgate Cemetery to @yaya_labs_ and the first-ever @robotdogfights at @outernetglobal, and their journey to build the most dangerous sport of the 2030s. Yes, plasma cannons on robot dogs ft. @cdg8484 and @uniquelyboxxed.

Restless Egg backs a new creative class of entrepreneurs that is bringing together culture and tech together in strange and unforeseen ways, but we are only one node in the emerging London technoculture. Also featured in Thomas' piece are @amfq @antikythera_xyz @benjaminbratton, @mayabkronic @moe_fang_adept, @urbanomicdotcom @felicita_felicita @pcmus @chyvenne @andy.rolfes @hiddenfish.io @gliahq via @csm_news and @somersethouse.

Huge thanks to Thomas. Read the piece, “Inside London’s strange new AI art scene” at @bigthinkers or via the link in bio.

Acceleration, Redirected! Kyiv, 28-30 August 2026.

Over the final weekend of August, we gathered artists, designers, researchers, technologists and emerging founders outside Kyiv for a two-day mini-accelerator for cultural first movers.

Together we moved ideas towards prototypes, products and ventures. We also worked on the question of what should happen next for the emerging founder archetype that is operating at the intersection of subculture and emerging technology.

The programme was led by @moon_emjoi for @restlesseggstudio, in close collaboration with @bognamk and @sonyakvasha / @baby___prod.

Special guest @dalenaxtran joined @otherstuff_sam for a live @fuserstudio session, showing how Fuser's open, node-based canvas brings creative tools, models and ideas together across media and @bognamk traced the history and future of Eastern European technology, locating this cohort of cultural first movers within that trajectory. Shared throughout the programme was remarkable food, an amazing venue and conversations whilst stargazing.

Thank you to everyone who travelled, brought work in progress, asked difficult questions, presented, cooked, hosted, photographed, organised and made the weekend so amazing :).

The programme and collaboration will continue...Stay tuned for a public showing of the projects and products this November!

Дякуємо. More soon.

Announcing “Acceleration, Redirected!” — a two-day mini-accelerator taking place in Kyiv this August, led by @moon_emjoi of Restless Egg and partners in Ukraine, @bognamk and @baby___prod

The programme features workshops, small-group work, and prototyping for early experiments that are ready to evolve into pitches, products, ventures, or other new forms of practice.

It is for people carrying the seed of an idea, whether from art, technology, research, journalism, defence, culture, or somewhere in between, who want to spend two intensive days testing what it could become.

The aim is to give contemporary intensity a practical release valve: into prototypes, tools, paths toward productisation, and ventures that can be built and carried forward.

Last week we welcomed the inspiring @moon_emjoi to introduce our @goldsmithscomparts @digital_arts_computing students and alum to the incredible and innovative @restlesseggstudio. Talking unlocking cultural frontiers through creative experimentation, in active refusal of disposability and slop, positioning the slippery question of taste and AI as a luxury technology.

Future collaborations in the mix... championing creative technology as infra-economic model of provocation / generation and innovation.
