Big news! 💫 Our feature documentary in development, Recovery, has been officially selected for the 34th edition of the IDFA Forum @idfafestival!

Out of 859 submissions worldwide, Recovery is one of just 47 projects chosen by 42 external experts to participate in this prestigious international co-production and co-financing market in Amsterdam.

Directed by Roman Bondarchuk @rbondarchuk and Vadym Ilkov @vadym_ilkov, Recovery is a mosaic-like chronicle of Ukraine rebuilding itself amidst destruction. Moving between intimate human gestures and the monumental scale of reconstruction, the film weaves poetic imagery with the challenges and paradoxes of rebuilding.

🇺🇸 Over the past two weeks, Songs of Slow Burning Earth travelled across the U.S., bringing us together with audiences in Berkeley, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Fresno, Seattle, and New York. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came to the screenings, shared the film, and joined the conversations.

💫 We were deeply moved by the reflections shared during the tour. As one viewer noted: «There was beauty, not gratuitous, just captured as fleeting in the fleeing from outside destroyers. I feel every person young, middle and old should be exposed to this vision of reality. It reminded me of how little I am aware of or exposed to the rest of the world here in America where we are so isolated and insulated… privileged to be protected by the oceans that keep us apart from other nations.»

🥰 Huge thanks to Razom for Ukraine @razom.for.ukraine for supporting our journey and for their amazing work bringing Ukrainian cinematic culture to the US! Режисерка Ірина Цілик @iryna.tsilyk та художниця Лія Мчедлішвілі @lia_mchedlishvili_ покажуть анімаційний тест майбутнього фільму і розкажуть, як формується його візуальна мова. Ірина розповість аудиторії про задум, історію та режисерський підхід, а Лія — про роботу над фонами, арт дирекцію анімаційного тесту та пошук візуальних рішень.

На прикладі тесту вони покажуть, як режисерське бачення переходить у зображення: як вибудовуються локації, атмосфера, колір, композиція та взаємодія персонажів із середовищем. Також поговорять про спільну роботу режисерки й художньої команди та про роль анімаційного тесту в подальшій розробці повного метру 🌈 by @moonman_production

Songs of Slow Burning Earth is coming to NYC!

Directed by Olga Zhurba and shot during the first two years of Russia’s full-scale invasion, this award-winning Ukrainian documentary shows how war reshapes everyday life. It premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival and has screened at major festivals around the world.

This screening is part of the U.S. Impact Tour, and all ticket proceeds go to Save Ukraine, supporting children and families affected by the war.

🇨🇦 We’re deeply grateful to the team behind YVR Screen Scene For Ukraine @yvrscreenscene for organising a special screening of Songs of Slow Burning Earth by Olha Zhurba in Vancouver.

Together, the event raised $7,300 to support Ukrainian defenders through RIY Vancouver, a volunteer-driven organisation that provides essential, life-saving medical supplies to defenders in Ukraine.

RIY Vancouver @riyvancouver helps deliver critical medical aid and equipment to frontline units, working to ensure that Ukrainian defenders have the resources they need.

🇺🇸 SONGS OF SLOW BURNING EARTH IS COMING TO THE US!

We’re thrilled to announce that Songs of Slow Burning Earth, directed by Olha Zhurba, is coming to the United States!

From September 28 to October 4, director Olha Zhurba @zhurbao_o and producer Darya Bassel @daryabassel will travel across the US for a series of special screenings and Q&As.

This tour is organized by our US distributor, EPF Media @epfmedia, with the generous support of Razom for Ukraine @razom.for.ukraine @razom.culture – a US-based nonprofit supporting Ukraine through humanitarian aid, medical programs, advocacy, and cultural initiatives.

“Одного дня я хочу побачити тебе щасливим” — це документальна історія про любов, що трансформується, але нікуди не зникає. Навіть коли звичний світ перестає існувати.

Світова премʼєра відбулась у документальній програмі Таллінського міжнародного фестивалю «Темні ночі». Вперше в Україні фільм було показано у рамках спеціальної програми «Міцні конструкції» на 23-му Міжнародному кінофестивалі документального кіно про права людини Docudays UA. На Одеському міжнародному кінофестивалі фільм бере участь у національному конкурсі.
