You know what they say about playing with fire right? But what they don’t tell you, is that the burn can be everything—Empowering, enchanting, even enlightening.
•
In my experience playing with fire I’ve learned that it can yield the most beautiful results. Results that emerge solely when you bestow absolute trust on the process. Case in point, a true transformation on this willow 10x rabbit for @lizzyreagan into a teardrop + “gunslinger” asym brim, coffee & torch distressed, branded, hand burned, with a brim curl bullet hole style notch, then set on fire. The result hit the top of my killer design list. Hands down a favorite to date on my hat making journey @bjorkstamhatco .
•
True trust & artistic freedom— to land on a concept together & have Liz gracefully just say “go for it”; full send on a hand burned design of our favorite little laccolith Mt. Crested Butte 😮‍💨
+ dressed with a sterling arrow brim pin & twisted cowboy toothpick handmade by yours truly too 🫶🏽 @lux.ex.libris

As sweet summer greens fade to gold, & warm autumn tones ombré to brown hung in their first shrouds of white, I’m finally lookin’ back on some sweet summer lovin’ & beautiful mementos I created to commemorate love •
🤍🤍🤍
• • •
When Phoebe reached out asking me to create a wood inlay wedding bolo for her “lumberjack” fiancé, I loved the concept right away. She brought over a box of discards from his dunnage yard & we went through piece by piece discussing the possibilities. We landed on this chocolatey walnut with sapwood highlights, adding turquoise and lapis lazuli inlay & polished antler tines for the bolo tips •
• • •
What began as one bolo for her soon-to-be husband, springboarded into a bundle of wedding favors — five baller groomsman & suspenders pins, two sets of earrings unique with silver findings + a second sweet bolo for dad to boot. Each piece unique, yet all a cohesive set: cut, sanded, inlaid, polished & mounted.

Thank you ♾️ for trusting me with your vision Pheebs, for rolling with the punches & for saying hell yes as the creative process unfolds down unexpected routes!

One year—like a year can be labeled as a singular instance—a lone tally on the vast blackboard—yet within “one” moment of time—eternity ⏳ •
