My partner and I are moving to the Outer Banks. I turn 40 in a month and it feels like the perfect way to usher in a new era.

There are so many reasons I wanted to move, the new Microsoft data center being built next door being a giant one. As construction has continued, I’ve watched the animals appear less, seen more roadkill, experienced more light pollution and more noise (and it will only get worse, with the constant buzz of servers being what it’s all headed for). I moved from the city for the quiet, and having a data center go in next door is heartbreaking. And my heart was already broken, having lost Sheldon earlier this summer after 15 years together.

For a long time, my husband and I, we have been dreaming together. We whispered affirmations to each other while asleep and awake. We did magic and plotted and planned and put ourselves out there. We asked the universe, “can this happen?” and she answered back, “yes,and.” What about jobs? “Yes, and.” What about a place to live? “Yes, and.” Yes, and we’re making this trust fall together, leaving Ohio after our lifetimes here to go live our dreams in the Outer Banks.

One day I’d like to share the deeper story of the very real hard work and magic that went into the journey of being able to make this post. It’s honestly quite wild, the synchronicities that have happened along the way.

But in the meantime, we are moving! To the Outer Banks! November 1!

2023 was a really wild ride. I started out the year with a surgery that made me the childfree auntie I’ve always wanted to be. I leaned harder into art this year and I painted through a lot of the year, embracing my inner artist. I sold art (as an artist!) to strangers this year. I also wrote a lot and enjoyed sending out my monthly moon mail email. I read Tarot and did dream interpretations for several incredible clients. I lived the girlhood summer of my dreams with Barbie movies and seeing Taylor Swift.

And I watched a genocide unfold in real time on social media, cried countless tears for Palestine and the family I will never meet while I hoped and prayed that our remaining family survives. I endured something like seven rounds of layoffs at work this year. But I still wouldn’t survive the year there; we all got laid off on 12/20 when the company closed. I started yoga teacher training in September and I will be a certified yoga teacher in April of 2024. Yoga has given me my life back as I’ve dodged the different battles of the end of this year. I’m so grateful I started that journey and I’m so excited to see what it brings for me.

They say 2023 was the year of the Chariot and I feel like it definitely hasn’t been without quick movement from battle to battle. It felt like a year of dodged bullets and the continued crumble of capitalistic society with a few really great things happening.

🍉I’m grateful for the people I’ve spent time in community with this year.
🍉I’m grateful for yoga for bringing me peace in this wild time, and for the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali for comforting me in the fact that my human problems aren’t so new and novel.
🍉I’m grateful for my relationship with my husband and the way we evolve together as we move through life together.
🍉I’m grateful for the people I worked with and the magic we all built for the last 9 years at work. I’m grateful for the network we’ve built with each other and the way we look out for each other.
🍉I’m grateful for my sisters and nieces and the laughter and joy and love they bring me. I’m glad to be seen and loved by them.
🍉I’m here to witness and to hold space. Bring on 2024. by @moonstonerwitch

obx 2026 was one for the books. paddleboarding the sound and seeing stingrays (was too excited to even try to take a pic). beach burger babes. feet in the ocean every day. seeing tiny cute baby roasting ops. Ocracoke for my husband’s birthday. and the cherry on top: getting a flat tire 15 mins away from my sister and niece, which was a wild gift from the universe after we had planned not to see each other this visit due to conflicting schedules. the universe smiled and nudged us together.

for the first time in my life I wasn’t checking teams or keeping up on my email or (lol, the cruelty of corporate America) being subtly punished for taking the time off. I experienced the presence of the present. and for the first time ever - I looked forward to coming back to work.

I’ve been testing this @bluelizardsunscreen After Sun Lotion via @influenster for over six months and I’m finally allowed to talk about it because it’s summer in Australia now! ☀️🏖️

Brought this with me on vacation last May and used it after every sun exposure this summer as well. It might be in my head but I feel like with my liberal sunscreen use plus this after sun lotion, I got through the sunny days with minimal sun damage. I also have dry skin, and found this helped with any sun-related dryness I experienced in the summer.

Fantastic product that has me curious about the rest of the Blue Lizard sunscreen range, with lots of mineral sunscreens in different strengths and forms.

✨2025✨
A year of burnout and breakdowns until I was laid off in July. I then made the conscious decision to not seek another corporate job, which felt crazy after 20 years in the machine. It took a lot of unlearning and I’m grateful for my husband and support systems for standing behind me as I stepped away from everything familiar.

I traveled the US, made art, read tarot, taught yoga, racked up a ton of Hammock Hours and learned a lot of things. In addition to tarot and teaching yoga and meditation, I’m now delivering for a local coffee roaster, working physically hard but feeling actual peace in not being micromanaged, not being tethered to a desk as a means of “productivity,” and not having MS Teams noises haunt my dreams. I love it 😍 my new coworkers are so badass and genuinely kind.

Little by little, I’m coming into alignment with something that has been clawing to the surface, yearning to be acknowledged. Something new, something different. I’m excited to continue to give it space and time and presence in 2026.

2025 was certainly a wild ride, but if you’re reading this, we made it. Wishing the best, happiest 2026 to everyone but Zionists, bigots, racists and those that cross picket lines! by @moonstonerwitch

✨Sunday Riley Detox Darling✨
Pro-Microbiome Balancing Essence for Oily and Blemish-Prone Skin
My review/experience:

I was sent one of these to test out from @influenster and @sundayriley and initially I thought it would be like the hypochlorous acid spray that other brands have put out to cleanse and detoxify the skin (side note, your skin isn’t toxic so I’m not a huge fan of that term). But this one is much different.
This toner is formulated with Zinc PCA to help reduce excess oil and shine, silanediol salicylate to clear and refine pores, fermented noni and oat to support and soothe the skin barrier, and polylysine which acts prebiotic-like in helping the flora maintain balance and resiliency. It’s great for oily skin and leaves a sort of matte finish that looks good both under and above makeup.
I have combination skin with some dry patches and I found that despite that, my skin wasn’t dried out by the toner spray. It didn’t feel tight or uncomfortable. It has an awesome mist sprayer (asmr on slide 2 for you 🥰) and can be used after washing and throughout the day.

I’ve been wearing baseball caps a lot for work lately and sometimes I get acne where I sweat on my forehead. This toner spray helps clear those breakouts up ASAP. I have also been loving it for my monthly hormonal breakouts as well.

I’ve recently started a side gig where I’m handling a lot of boxes and the cardboard dries my hands out. I’ve been using the Grown Alchemist Regenerating Hand Cream as part of my nightly skincare after receiving a sample in exchange for my honest review.

This hand cream has a light but emollient texture and sinks into the skin beautifully. There is a light and sort of spa-like sage, rosemary and orange fragrance and I find it quite calming! It’s done wonders for my dryness, my ragged cuticles and my fine lines. Hands are the first places to show age, and this cream contains polypeptides and Rambutan to keep skin looking plump. Be sure to not skip hands when it comes to sunscreen and skincare time! A little bit goes a long way with this cream, which will factor in for me come repurchase time.

✨Keurig K-Express Essentials Plus review✨

I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. We’ve been using this brewer for over four weeks, and I feel like I’ve got a good sense of the ins and outs so here we go!

This machine provides 3 options for hot coffee: 6oz, 8oz or 10oz. It also allows you to brew a 12oz iced coffee. It has a 36oz reservoir, so depending on your brew size you may need to fill it more or less frequently - we drink a lot of coffee, so it was typically refilled once every day or two.

I like the multiple brew sizes so that I can have a more concentrated coffee, which I often find I need with Keurig pods. Keurig coffees don’t always feel full-bodied to me but the brew sizing does help. I also greatly appreciate having a single cup of decent drip coffee in less than two minutes. It makes the morning routine a bit quicker!

I don’t mind the iced coffee this machine brews, but my husband who prefers iced lattes wasn’t wowed by the iced feature. If you like cold brew type flavor, the iced option isn’t bad!

The drip tray is removable so that you can put a travel mug under the pour spout, but I’d love a larger hot cup option than 10oz. This little machine has been a workhorse for us in the last month and we like it!

✨MARLEY SPOON REVIEW✨

I was recently able to try a couple complimentary weeks of @marleyspoon thanks to #columbushummingbirds.

I’m continuing a paid subscription because I’m so satisfied with the service! Here’s what I loved about this meal delivery box:

✨the variety of recipes to choose from each week. It felt like a culinary choose-your-own-adventure story, and the recipes varied in time and difficulty too, which I appreciate.
✨THE FLAVORS. I often have found with other meal boxes that I’m supplementing the recipes with a lot of my spice cabinet - but we both agreed Marley Spoon was more flavorful overall without us intervening.
✨the quality of the ingredients was too-notch. Across eight meals & two weeks of deliveries, I only found one issue (a package that seemed a little open) and my account was credited immediately for the item. With other meal boxes, I’ve had entire meals ruined or arrive rotten. I was really impressed with the care they took into preserving the quality of the ingredients.
✨the pricing! There’s a $47 minimum for the plan I am using, which covers a couple of meals. We are opting for the four-meal box for 2, which keeps us fed on busy weeknights for around the same cost monthly that we would have spent on groceries - but with no waste and regret (ADHDer here who often has the best of intentions in the grocery aisle only to throw everything away, rotten, weeks later). There are also recipes that cost more or even less, which is variety we appreciate.
✨ADHD & sensory-friendliness: I don’t have to have the overwhelming of going to the store. The grocery store is like its own circle of Hell for me. With Marley Spoon, I don’t have to paralyze myself trying to find things to feed myself. It’s thought out, portioned out, and sent to my door, which frees me to do other things.
✨fits into my often-busy life (yoga classes weekly, tarot all the time) & makes sure I’m getting my nutrients without compromising flavor or brainpower.
