[Tuna Night]

This October, join us for a special dinner celebrating one of the finest catches from Cornish waters: bluefin tuna.

Hosted by Kieran Burkhill, Cornish fisherman of the Stargazy, the evening will explore the remarkable return of this extraordinary fish to our waters and the people who work with it.

A whole Cornish bluefin tuna will be brought into the restaurant for a live breakdown, demonstrating how the fish is prepared and used at MOR.

The Menu -

Raw tuna tasting with English wasabi, pickled ginger and MOR smoked tuna soy.

Smoked tuna bone broth with a steamed bun and tuna-bone soy mayonnaise.

Tuna three ways: tartare, carpaccio and tuna on toast.

Cornish bluefin loin gently poached in chicken fat, served sharing-style with MOR tuna garum, seasonal salad, potatoes and condiments.

Medjool date and custard tart, “Neil Perry”.

Throughout dinner, Kieran will share stories of life aboard the Stargazy, the realities of being a Cornish fisherman and the return of bluefin tuna to UK waters.

Each guest will leave with a MOR goody bag, including a printed menu and a portion of Cornish bluefin tuna to enjoy at home.

Friday 30 October | £150 per person

Guests are invited to arrive from 6pm ahead of the event start at 6.30pm. @one_mor_bar will be open for pre-dinner drinks.

DRE DHORN [By hand]

From the earth to MOR.

We had a lovely time with our friend Nynke from @nyn.ceramics in her studio, watching her work and chatting about what first drew her to ceramics and the landscape that inspires her.

Working with found natural clays and organic shapes, her pieces reflect a sense of place and belonging. Dotted around MOR, they help shape the character of the room, bringing natural textures and organic forms into the design.

It was a privilege to see her process first-hand. Knowing the care that goes into each piece makes having them here that bit more special.

From open Cornish waters to the @mor_restaurant kitchen🐟 Tuna Night, Friday 30th October, 6:30 - 10pm

Join us at MOR for an evening about the extraordinary journey of one of the ocean’s most powerful fish, and the fishermen who work to bring it from the open waters of Cornwall to the plate.

Once overfished from our waters, bluefin tuna have made a remarkable return to Cornish seas. Today, a strictly managed, limited and line-caught commercial fishery allows licensed Cornish fishermen to land this extraordinary fish for the table.

But catching one is no simple task. Bluefin are fast, muscular and built for endurance, meaning landing one demands skill and a huge amount of strength aboard a compact fishing boat.

On Friday 30 October, fisherman Kieran Burkhill from the Stargazy will bring that story to MOR.

The evening begins with a live bluefin tuna breakdown, followed by a five-course tasting menu showcasing different cuts of Cornish bluefin and MOR’s approach to making the most of the whole fish.

• A live tuna breakdown and demonstration
• Five courses celebrating Cornish bluefin tuna
• Stories and insight from fisherman Kieran Burkhill

Our community extends beyond our food suppliers. We work with talented individuals and teams across many disciplines, each playing a part in the restaurant experience at MOR.

We spent a day at her studio, watching her process and learning more about what drew her to ceramics and how her relationship with MOR began.
