“The consequences of AI often have nothing to do with whether or not the AI actually works. They’re about how Corporate America wants to use AI.”

Bernie Sanders joined young people for a real conversation about why corporations are integrating AI into the workplace, and how it’s impacting workers.

The @aatenantsunion just won Michigan’s first-ever right to organize. It’s just the beginning.

They’re working with us at More Perfect University to launch Rate Your Landlord, a site where renters can rate their landlords on housing conditions, affordability, responsiveness, and more.

And they’re pushing the rest of the Tenants’ Bill of Rights through the city council in order to guarantee tenants:

1. The right to organize
2. The right to rent control
3. The right to eviction protection
4. The right to counsel
5. The right to truth in renting
6. The right to housing access
7. The right to repair and deduct
8. The right to a fair lease by @moreperfectuniversity

Students living at a building complex near the University of Texas at San Antonio are forced to pay full rent despite damage and blocked access to major parts of their building. On July 15th, a tornado severely damaged the gym, pool, study rooms, and even some units. Three months later, their landlord, Palladius Capital Management, has yet to make repairs and grant tenants access to these parts of the complex, while still forcing them to pay full rent. by @moreperfectuniversity

“That’s just really, really weird.”

UNC Charlotte students were shocked to discover that out-of-state police departments are searching its campus Flock camera network more than its own campus and city police are. Houston Police searched the database over 183,000 times and Hillsborough County, Florida police searched over 39,000 times.

Penn State announced the termination of its contract with Flock and is removing the over 20 cameras from its campus.

The university says the decision was for financial reasons, but students don’t buy it. Many say public pushback and protests played a key role in the removal of the cameras. Penn State has not ruled out an alternate camera system and is actively exploring other options. by @moreperfectuniversity
