“As AI begins to encroach in our society, their goal is to take your cognition away from you. AI’s goal is to take your thoughts away from you, your ability to think away from you, so that you become dependent on a machine. And we have to understand that our pursuit of education — whether it is higher education, self education, reading books and doing things the old fashioned way sometimes — it is an act of resistance. And it is an act of protection of our humanity.” - @aoc @moreperfectuniversity

We’re ready to fight for the contract our members deserve.

Last week, over 200 member organizers came together to get strike-ready.

We make Harvard run. We teach its students, conduct its research, and do the work behind its reputation. Yet when we ask for enough money to live here and protections that make our workplaces safe, the administration keeps telling us to accept less. How much more are we supposed to give up?

We have already made concessions on core demands. At our 37th bargaining session on October 8, we presented a comprehensive package to reach an agreement and avoid another strike. We want to stay in our classrooms and labs, and we are doing everything in our power to avoid going on strike. But we can’t bargain when it’s just ourselves: Harvard has to move, too.

A strong floor, but no ceiling.

In my conversation with Democratic strategist and technology investor Oliver Libby, we discussed how America can embrace innovation and economic opportunity while ensuring that nobody gets left behind.

The goal shouldn't be to limit success. It should be to build an economy where everyone has the security and opportunity to succeed.

🚨 UT Austin students are boycotting Starbucks! 🛑☕️ Last week, student groups alongside the Texas AFL-CIO and other campus allies are joining union baristas to demand UT Austin completely cut its contracts with the coffee giant. The movement hit close to home during a campus visit from Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol (whose daughter attends UT). Students protested his visit, calling out corporate greed while baristas fight for fair wages and stable hours. 🪧✊

This is a communication masterclass from @abdulelsayed.

He’s not focused on “winning”, and it shows in his verbal communication, energy, and non-verbal cues.

Respectfully challenging someone’s view of the world is becoming a lost art…

And this is a great example from @moreperfectuniversity.
