Habari Gani? Kujichagulia!

On the second day of Kwanzaa, we honor Self-Determination; to define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves and speak for ourselves.

We are proud to uplift Aurway founding member @moreso.marcus , recipient of the 2025 @njpac Annual Community Service Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service, presented in recognition of his exceptional commitment to community-based service. This honor celebrates leadership rooted in action, integrity, and care.

Marcus’s work with Aurway is a living expression of Kujichagulia—choosing to lead with intention, choosing to serve, and choosing to help build a creative community that reflects who we are and who we strive to be. taken in Newark, New Jersey by @moreso.marcus

@marcus.speax sings Next To You

This was surely always in a medley Jacob would put together.

Help us honor him by supporting the Health & Wellness Center we’re building in his name.

Scenes from Aurway’s Black Broadway Revue! ✨ Last week, we had the honor of performing at @nps_artshigh for a special program invited by the Superintendent of @newarkpublicschools

This concert-style journey through Black Broadway history, directed by @marcus.speax and arranged/choreographed by @that_musicman was a celebration of the iconic and unsung productions that paved the way. Grateful for the opportunity to bring this theatrical history lesson to life!
