A wonderful day at Decorex Design Circles yesterday!

It was a pleasure to share my insights on The Design Process: From Concept to Completion alongside other talented industry experts, exchanging knowledge, experiences and practical insights during the @businessandinteriors roundtable.

It was lovely to meet both new and familiar faces. Afterwards, I took the opportunity to explore the stands and meet some fantastic suppliers. There was so much inspiration to take in, and I’ll be sharing more of it with you soon!

Walk with me through some of the spaces in this London penthouse in Battersea, where layered textures, bespoke furniture and carefully curated artworks come together to create a home that feels both grounded and elevated.

From warm bronze finishes and richly veined marble to deep leather tones, every detail has been carefully considered — creating a quiet balance between function, beauty and timeless sophistication.

Venice Main Reception

Designed to make a quiet yet memorable first impression, this main reception — one of three within our Venice residence — balances architectural heritage with refined contemporary detailing.

Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light, while the original antique ceiling, bespoke sculptural lighting and carefully considered finishes bring depth and character to the interior.

Rather than relying on excess, every element was selected to work in harmony, allowing texture, proportion and light to complement the building’s historic architecture and define the character of the space.

Come and join Business and Interiors at the Decorex Design Circles.

This year, we’re hosting a series of roundtable conversations designed to help you strengthen your interior design business, with practical insights from industry experts.

📍 Find us on stand J50, National Hall

📆 Wednesday 14th October | 11am

◾️ Rethinking the Design Process: From Concept to Completion
With Cinzia Moretti | Creative Director of Moretti Interior Design
Co-founder of Business and Interiors
@moretti_interior_design

A strong design process is what separates a smooth, profitable project from a chaotic one. This session explores how leading studios are refining their workflows, from early concept and client alignment through to delivery and installation. We’ll look at how to create a process that feels seamless for clients, while giving your studio more clarity, control, and consistency.

◾️ Neuro Aesthetics in Interior Design: The Science of How We Experience Space
With Roberta Baldan | Founder & Director of Roby Baldan Interiors
@robybaldaninteriors

Why do some spaces feel instantly calm, while others feel unsettling? This session explores the principles of neuroaesthetics and how our brains respond to colour, light, materials, and layout. We’ll look at how designers can create environments that support wellbeing, emotion, and a deeper connection to the space.

◾️ Understanding CDM: The Designer’s Role on Site
With Simone Pinducciu | Founder & Managing Director of Mesoni

CDM is often misunderstood, yet it plays a critical role in how projects are delivered. This session breaks down what CDM actually means for interior designers, clarifying responsibilities, risks, and how to work confidently alongside contractors and consultants.

◾️ Garden Design: Extending the Home Beyond Its Walls
With James Innes | Director of James Innes Design

Outdoor spaces are becoming an essential part of how clients live and entertain. This session explores how to approach garden design as a natural extension of the interiors, creating continuity in materials, mood, and function while working effectively with landscape designers.

Before & After | Marylebone Apartment Living Room Transformation

Swipe through to see the before and after of the living room at our Marylebone apartment.

Originally, this space was the children’s bedroom, while the living area was positioned at the back of the property. By relocating the living room to the front, we were able to create a space that felt better connected to the character of the apartment.

We introduced new architectural details to the ceiling and walls, adding rhythm, proportion and a sense of quiet elegance. The room was designed to support both sides of family life: a refined setting for more formal social moments, but also a comfortable space for everyday time together.

The bespoke TV unit became an important focal point within the scheme. With metal detailing, marble accents and carefully considered storage, it brings a more elevated design language to a practical family need.

Often a space that is neglected, hallways are perfect places to set the tone for the rest of the house. By carefully considering layout, texture, and styling, the entrance becomes more than just a transitional space—it becomes a statement. Whether it’s the use of bold artwork, elegant console tables, or a thoughtfully placed mirror, the hallway is your opportunity to create a warm welcome and a sense of flow that reflects the personality of the home.

Wellness is no longer an afterthought in interior design. It’s becoming fundamental to the way we live — and increasingly, to the way we design our homes.

For many of our clients, the home gym has become one of the most requested spaces. But it’s no longer simply a room for exercise. It’s a space designed around energy, focus, balance and longevity.

Because ultimately, designing a home gym is about designing a mindset — turning wellbeing from something we intend to prioritise into something that naturally becomes part of everyday life.

And good design can make all the difference.

Natural light, proportion, acoustics, materiality and atmosphere all influence how a space makes us feel. Calming natural tones create a sense of balance, considered lighting supports energy and focus, while a clean, uncluttered layout makes the room somewhere you actually want to spend time.

Swipe through a selection of our designs, from CGI concepts for a Dubai residence, to a home gym in Venice and a garden-integrated solution within a Grade II listed London home.

Three very different settings, each designed around the same idea: making wellbeing part of the architecture of everyday life.

Bathrooms are no longer just functional spaces — they’ve evolved into daily wellness retreats, where design supports calm, routine and restoration.

We approach every bathroom as a sanctuary — a place to slow down, recharge and begin and end the day with intention. From soft lighting and natural textures to thoughtful layouts and serene palettes, every detail matters.

Here is one of the bathrooms in our Venice project — designed to bring spa-like tranquillity into everyday living.

It’s often the smallest details that bring the whole scheme together.

A few details from our Hertfordshire project, where every piece was thoughtfully designed and every material, texture and finish carefully selected with purpose. Together, these layers helped us create a home that feels considered, cohesive and deeply personal to our client.
