Starting 2024 with some revision from @melgrace_ ‘s awesome static workshop with a little extra freestyle spice. I feel good; chubby and well socialised after time spent with friends and eating delicious food. And excited for more learning and creating in 2024.

I had the good fortune to make it to the closing night of @burlezque_ and was absolutely delighted by the sheer amount of talent in one place. In particular @fae_salem ‘s beautifully emotive solo act (I may or may not have cried), and @veruca.sour ‘s fiercely intelligent ‘human’ performance. Not only was it a phenomenal show but it left me feeling refuelled and inspired and ready to create. Anyways, follow some of those hard-working talented local performers, they’re honestly absolute stars.

These freestyle snippets are to ‘It’s All So Incredibly Loud’ by Glass Animals, one of the feature songs that wormed its way into my head.

Watching back freestyles is so interesting to me - you never know how things are going to go. Anyways, I’ve been obsessed with dancing to this song lately and this was one of my favourite warm up freestyles.

My first pole jam post top surgery. Nervous, awkward, halting, repetitive and very very joyful. I am of course looking forward to building my strength and getting back into new and exciting moves…but in the meantime just relishing that I get to dance as me and that’s really very special.

Thank you to everyone who’s supported me through my surgery - even a few kind words can mean the world when being authentic can mean being a little different.

I’ve been a little obsessed with this sort of fake scutoid combo lately - a lot of fun. I’d also like to get the #pdsuperman to push-up down smoother so if anyone has any tips lmk!

Some old stuff, some new stuff, some blue stuff.
My first Naarm post - doing some evening jamming at the lovely @thepoleroom

So sad I won’t be in Naarm to see @breathe.team but maybe they’ll love it so much they’ll be around again soon 🤞

How great were the exo gen routines? Really enjoying seeing everyone’s vids.

My journey from concept to completion for @aves.robins Absurd Strange Cabaret Fringe show. Months of brainstorming, sewing, choreographing and prop making - it’s all over! But I had a blast…and who’s to say if Moth might one day return?

Some post performance low flow reflections…

The fervour of a creative performance or project is for me always followed by a bit of low, but the thud back to reality post Fringe show has been quite brutal.

Watching the fascist extremists in the U.S. target and repeal protections for anyone seen as ‘Other’ (trans, queer, POC, sx workers, immigrant/diverse background, disabled) while simultaneously being surrounded by the queerdo joy that is Fringe is…jarring.

With Aussie elections looming I know some of our politicians will be looking to U.S. as a playbook (some already have).

Being at Fringe really brings the joy of celebrating what’s ’different’ to the fore, and I hope as election season approaches (all hail the democracy sausage! 🌭) to see it celebrated beyond Fringe season.

💖 you all, stay weird cuties 💖
