I have been in a reading funk the last couple weeks. Between that and my mental health, I have been rereading some to get me out of my funk. I am currently rereading Carter Reed! As my reading preferences have been changing the last year, @tijansbooks has stayed on top for me. Here is my original review for Carter Reed.

Carter & Emma grew up together. Carter was Emma’s brothers best friend. He always crashed on their couch when things were bad at home. When AJ was murdered he told Emma to only trust Carter and if she ever needed something to go to him.

The first chapter, when Emma came home to her best friend and roommate being rapped by her boyfriend and she shot and killed him all I could say was she is a tough bitch.

Emma has not seen Carter in years but when she is forced to go to him for protection she finds out he joined the mafia to protect Emma because the people who killed her brother wanted to kill her too. He had been watching her the whole time.

Although Emma fell apart a few times in this book, she was still tough. She has so much fight in her and she will do ANYTHING to protect her loved ones.

Carter is a big damn teddy bear! He was forced to join the mafia and do bad things to protect the one person he loves more than anyone, Emma! She thinks he did it because of her brother but she doesn’t know the real reason why.

Wow! This series just keeps getting better and better. I just need to know more. The little chapters they throw in with Winslet and the brothers make the series so good. There are so many theories I feel people can go with for their story.

Quinn has wanted Lucas since childhood.

Lucas ran and was gone for 9 years. But for reasons no one expected. The yearning between both of them. The TENSION. OH MY GOSH!!! Not Sorry to say but this is my fave series written by Penelope! The way this story has been written by them it is just unputdownable in on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Of course I cannot write this without commenting about Jared being so overprotective of his little sister since Jared will always be my main man. But come on dude, chill bro. I was happy Tate put him in his place 😂😂 by @morganreads_88

Look at this STUNNING special edition of one of my favorite books written by @tijansbooks The minute I saw she announced it, I knew I had to get my hands on it.

This book had me hooked from the second Aspen watched a girl going down on Blaise. It also destroyed me at times. When Aspen talked about Owen, I couldn’t stop my crying. When Blaise had his problems, I couldn’t stop my crying.

This was a very emotional and heartbreaking book. I love Aspen and Blaise together! I love how protective he gets of her about camping. Aspen is a very strong girl!

This book is in the Fallen Crest world but Fallen Crest series does not need to be read first. Aspen is Nate’s little sister. Even though I will ALWAYS recommend everyone to read the Fallen Crest series.

“Who would I become if I was not at the mercy of men”

It is really hard for me to write a romantasy review without spoilers so I’m going to really try here.

What I loved about this book is it has Devneys mystery that she is good at while having romance with fantasy. I do wish there was a little more fantasy elements in it but I can tell that the next books are going to have more because this book was building up to it.

When it comes to romantasy to me, I am all for the fmc and the mmc working together and no secrets. So I was getting very frustrated. I had to keep reminding myself this was book 1 of the series. Then Devney went and had them finally start trusting each other and these two are literally the best!

I absolutely love the romance part. Sometimes with romantasy, there’s not enough romance and this book gave me so many feels. I had so many butterflies. This is exactly what I mean when I ask for romantasy.

For audiobook lovers, it is really nice to finally have a romantasy book with amazing narrators. Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke are top fave female and male narrators so I was happy to see them narrating this.

Yes, just like all fantasy there’s a cliffhanger and now we have to wait for the next books 😫😫

Shelfie Sunday!

I do not read physical books much but I collect them. I love moving my books around on my shelf and making my shelf look different all the time.

If I did not have my kids coming in here and sharing the shelves too (their books are on the bottom shelf) I would be able to display my favorite pics out there. The NSFW or as I call it, art porn 😂😂

I can not get enough of this series!! Daddy Roman has a mouth on him!!

Roman has been holding a torch for the woman he had a one weekend stand(?) with. She left him and they never saw each other again. Until BAM she is now the assistant coach for the team he is on.

I knew Roman would be such a sweet, kind soul. The way he supported Lexi in her new roll and helped her with her sisters.

These two fight their feelings and their attraction because it is off limits for a player and a coach to date but how long will that last?

This was filled with everyone being there for Lexi and her sisters. Dressing up as Santa and his elves 💀💀 I also love how Dred has been there for the girls and Lexi

*side note* That conversation at the end between Peggy and Roman had me in tears omg

Happy birthday to one of the best friends a girl could ask for. The one person who has literally SEEN IT ALL. The universe never wanted us apart. Thank you for being my healer in Rivals. Thank you for always adding 1000 more books on my never ending TBR. Thank you for always providing the best playlists. Thank you for always being down for a day trip to Chicago or even to just go get a tattoo. Thank you for dealing with me and my drama in high school. Thank you for helping me re-find myself outside of being a mom this year. And also, thank you for always being a sounding board for me. I hope today is filled with so much love and joy. The kids and I are so lucky to have someone like you in our lives.

This was the first book in the Rosewood River series and it’s about Easton and Henley. Easton was first introduced in the Magnolia Falls series. Easton is a grumpy lawyer who is considered the shark in the courtroom. Now enter Henley, his bosses daughter. Who he is now supposed to mentor. He’s already annoyed that she gets to jump the ladder because of her name. Now he has to mentor her. But she quickly wins everyone’s hearts.

He quickly learns she actually earned her spot and her degree and it wasn’t just handed to her. He brings her to his pickleball game and finds out she’s great at that too. But he refuses to act on his feelings towards her because they work together. Until neither of them can hold back anymore.

I have read Laura’s books for a very long time and I’ve enjoyed seeing how much her books have changed in the years and I love it. They are still Laura but they are much better. I love how she writes these series and then with the next series it’s almost like a spin off of the series before. So they are all intertwined.

Chase Lovett Wants Me- Helena Hunting
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I am nothing but a sucker when it comes to college romance. Put that with hockey too and I’m immediately down bad for it.

Cammie is a wallflower and she writes a spicy MFM fanfic. No one has even noticed who she is. Until there’s a fire in the dorms and she gets put into the same room as Chase. The man she’s been obsessed with. He notices her immediately and doesn’t stop.

Chase has no red flags and that’s what I love about this book. He’s literally the most perfect man ever.

I cannot wait to read more of this series.

The Path to Loving Him @meghanquinnbooks
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh Wow!! I think this might possibly be the SPICIEST book Meghan Quinn has ever written. And damn is it good! From the one night stand to the “no more after this” I just loved every bit of it.

Unpopular opinion. I was someone who did not think I would love Ryland but Meghan had to go and prove me wrong. Ryland is the protector and once you get into his circle he becomes protective of you. It’s how he is. Gabby has been on her own with her brother since they were teens. She’s been taking care of him. It’s just been them. She tries to do things on her own still but Ryland doesn’t let that slide. He wants to take care of her and she needs it.

The chemistry between these two and the love. I love this series. It’s my favorite of Meghan’s. I love this family so much.

Abel, I’m impatiently waiting on a book for him. Bower and Bennett 👀
