It’s been a minute since I’ve shared here. I was in a deep transformation ~ shedding who I was and stepping into a more authentic version of myself. Change is a never ending journey, but it’s my heart that has led me here. Photography will always remain a part of that journey and be something I offer to those who resonate with my work, but this pull to interiors, design, energetic alignment, and a holistic sacred lifestyle is one that I could not ignore. 🤍 by @morganskyephoto

The photographs we love the most are a visceral, sensory experience. They transport us to another place in time and evoke an emotional response. This is how you make them.

@morganskyephoto and I spent five hours in the Redwoods that day. We stopped at the river and picked up pretty rocks, filmed video clips on my Super 8, pressed our hands and foreheads into the damp tree trunks, and twirled in dresses underneath the fog.

I can feel the magic of that day every time I look at these photos. Because we gave ourselves fully to the process of creating something meaningful.

And I think that’s kinda the whole point.

Whether you’re making a memory, a piece of art, or a business, it’s all the same. Do it with presence, intention, and your whole heart.

Because when you give it all of you,
what you get back
is everything.

Thank you @greenspringsinn for reminding me that the forest is calling and is just a quick drive away.

A little something I wrote while there ~ “The Cabin”

Reading through the guest book at this small cabin in the woods, I am struck by the layers of memories that a place can hold. The laughter, the smiles, the reset and peace. This is what a cabin in the woods has to offer. It’s more than a place to stay. It’s a capsule of time that has tenderly held humans through various celebrations and journey’s in life. I read now in the guest book, a story of a mother on her first solo journey since having a child, another couple celebrating their anniversary, another her 50th birthday here.

There is something to be said about the simplicity’s of life. The way we celebrate.

I’m here now, at this cabin the woods experiencing my own memories nestled amongst the Cascade-Siskyou National Monument. Being reminded that our forests and land must be preserved at all costs. We are wild creatures, we are meant to explore. Feel the earth beneath our feet.
