Tomorrow, Roots and Lotus opens at @morleygallery.
Roots and Lotus
📆 9th-17th October 2026

Artist @RobiWalters presents a vibrant and deeply personal solo exhibition exploring his Jamaican and English heritage, alongside themes of meditation, sacred geometry, transformation and wellbeing.

Known for transforming discarded materials into intricate kaleidoscopic collages, Walters creates works from recycled cards, meticulously hand-cut and assembled into striking compositions:

“The process takes a long time and puts me in a meditative state. I make these works to transform discarded and unused materials, and to ask how we might repurpose things in other areas of our lives too. I’m inspired by sacred geometry, and my intention is that once a piece is placed on a wall, it brings harmony and tranquillity to the space.” - Robi Walters

🗣️“Morley Gallery enables me to explore a wider range of my work to tell a different story than I normally would, and that is very exciting for me."

LAST CHANCE
Please Touch: Ceramic Encounters
Megan Rowden
29 September - 3 October 2026
Open 1-4pm

After receiving rave reviews, Please Touch: Ceramic Encounters closes tomorrow.

Why not come in for a moment of mindfulness - watch what happens to unglazed clay in water, decorate pots with decals, and trade something for a trinket of your own.

This exhibition brings together a series of participatory ceramic works in which visitors are invited to touch, handle, rearrange, exchange and alter the work. It forms part of Megan's practice-based PhD research into bond-making between artist, clay and audience.

You can find us at: 61 Westminster Bridge Road, SE1 7HT, London.

Making Faces
Zsuzsi Roboz Scholarship Exhibition 2026
10 - 26 September

Rosie Gibbens approaches the body as a site shaped by systems of labour, technology and desire. During the scholarship, she learned new skills in sculpture and textiles, and experimented with metalwork, casting, sublimation print and quilting. Recent work is informed by theories of the prospective future body as it becomes increasingly 'optimised' by technological augmentation.

Making Faces brings together new work by Yvadney Davis and Rosie Gibbens, made during the Zsuzsi Roboz Scholarship at Morley College. Both artists discovered new techniques and processes that inspired their mixed-media figurative practices. Faces are revealed and concealed, built and deconstructed.

Making Faces
Zsuzsi Roboz Scholarship Exhibition 2026
10 - 26 September

Working across painting, intaglio printmaking and textiles, Yvadney Davis creates rich layered figurative works that function as visual archives of cultural memory. Drawing deeply on her Caribbean British heritage, she weaves together personal and collective narratives, exploring nostalgia, ancestry and belonging, and considers the ways in which the past continues to shape our identities in the present.

"A look from outside in"
Sculptures by Wojciech A Sobczynski
Morley Gallery Windows
3 - 25 August

"A look from outside in" - seems an appropriate description of an unusual exhibition at Morley Gallery. The gallery is closed for summer holidays but unlike in the previous years its windows are not vacant, hollow and empty.

On the contrary - five principal windows facing the street are populated by 21 sculptures created by, or perhaps it would be more fitting to say - improvised by Wojciech A Sobczynski, a Londoner of Polish origins, who established his practice in this neighborhood for a number of decades. In the main, the sculptures on show are mixed media variations of repeated shapes in wood mixed with a selection of industrial products harnessed into an aesthetic visual exercise. The aim is to engage a passerby, be it someone on route from home to work, or a tourist on the way to and from a local museum.

The art works were chosen by the curatorial team of Morley Gallery, thus creating a precedent that may mark a repetition of such practice in the future.
