Big learning experience at the weekend calling the @lborointernationalathletics!

Lots of lessons learned and plenty of improvements to be made, but that’s exactly what we’re here for.

Here’s a little snippet from one of the performances of the day in my eyes — @henrich.charlotte with a dominant run in the 400m match.

Big shoutout to the main man @scott.eburne, who was first class on the 🎤 and carried me all day 😂🤝

Back in action twice this coming weekend 👀👀

O’SULLIVAN LOOKING OMINOUS 🇮🇪 1:59.65👀

“Looking ominous…” 🎙️

Had the pleasure of calling Sophie O’Sullivan’s brilliant win in the BMC Women’s 800m A Race at the St Mary’s Grand Prix.

First sub 2 minute 800m, and what a way to do it.
….a kick timed to absolute perfection.

Really enjoyed calling this one. 🎙️ by @morrell_live

Battersea Park 5k delivered once again ! A little snippet from the studio with a pearler to close the race off 👀.

Jack Rowe taking the win in 13:37 on a hot evening in Battersea park was just a little bit special. Another huge production from the @topflightraces guys 🐐

Back very soon 🎙️

I’m picking Josh Kerr over Mondo Duplantis. 👀

And on the women’s side? Agnes Ngetich gets my vote.

Kerr: world mile record, World Ultimate champion, world indoor champion, Commonwealth champion.

Ngetich: two global titles, a world record in Copenhagen and one of the most dominant distance-running seasons of 2026.

Those are my two World Athlete of the Year picks.

Tell me I’m wrong. 👇

🚨 EDDIE HEARN HAS ENTERED ATHLETICS… 👀

16-year-old British sprint star Bronson Hearn-Smith has signed with Matchroom Talent Agency becoming what appears to be the agency’s first move into track and field.

Matchroom’s talent arm has already expanded beyond boxing into MMA and rugby, with names including Tom Aspinall, Henry Pollock and Finn Russell.

Now they’ve landed one of Britain’s brightest young sprinters.

European U18 200m champion.
20.70 this summer.
And still only 16. 🇬🇧🔥

So is this simply one very smart signing…or the start of Matchroom taking a much bigger interest in athletics?

🚨 **EXCLUSIVE: JAKE SMITH IS HEADING TO VALENCIA…. ON PACING DUTIES!

Fresh off a 2:09 marathon in Berlin and a PB of more than 90 seconds, Jake Smith reveals he’ll be back on marathon duty later this year, pacing in Valencia.

But there’s a lot more to this one.

Jake joins Rich Morrell to break down exactly what happened in Berlin, why he believes a major change in his training has helped unlock another level, and the huge role cross training is now playing in his programme.

He also opens up on the tougher periods after London marathon, when the results weren’t matching the work, and what it took to get himself back to running his best.

2:09. A big PB. A different approach. And now Valencia awaits. 🇪🇸

🎙️ Full conversation with Jake Smith now on the Trackstaa YouTube channel, link in bio 🤝 by @morrell_live

LONDON DOES THE DOUBLE 🇬🇧👀

The London Marathon is changing in a BIG way for 2027 …two days, two separate elite programmes and more runners getting the opportunity to take part.

And there are some obvious positives.

From a broadcast point of view, giving the elite men and women their own day could be brilliant. More space to actually tell the stories of the race rather than multiple competitions unfolding at the same time.

Then there’s the big benefit of more people actually getting the chance to run London.

But there’s another side to it.

Can you recreate that famous London Marathon atmosphere on two consecutive days? Will the same crowds come out twice? Does splitting everything up take something away from that feeling of the entire running world descending on London for one huge Sunday?

And that’s before you even get into the logistics and disruption of staging it across a full weekend.

Let’s us know your thoughts in the old comments section 👇 by @morrell_live

My men’s GOAT performance of the 2026 track season? 🇳🇴

Jakob Ingebrigtsen at the European Championships.

And yes, this is me trying to convince Mr Cameron Boyek that I’m right.

It wasn’t just the fact he won the 5,000m. It was everything around it.

The comeback. The build up. The anticipation. The question marks.

Is he fit?
How fit is he?
What is he actually going to be able to do after so long away?

Then he turns up, steps onto the track and goes and wins the bloody thing.

For me, the best performances aren’t always just about the fastest time or the biggest championship.

Sometimes it’s the story.

And that night just felt like another massive chapter in the Jakob Ingebrigtsen story.

🐐 Men’s GOAT performance of 2026.…. Well Ai @cameronboyek ! Now @jakobing answer my phone calls bro ! by @morrell_live

FROM 800m TO 58:06. 🤯🇸🇪

Andreas Almgren is a WORLD CHAMPION.

The Swede clocks 58:06 to win the World Road Running Half Marathon title in Copenhagen, taking a huge 35 seconds off his own European record and moving to No.9 on the world all-time list.

The splits were ridiculous:

5K — 13:58
10K — 27:55
15K — 41:47
20K — 55:20
Finish — 58:06

And when it came down to the closing stages, Almgren showed the gears, kicking away from Nicholas Kipkorir to take his first global gold, with Joshua Cheptegei completing the podium in 58:26.

From World U20 800m medallist to European 10,000m champion… and now World Half Marathon Champion.

The Almgren evolution continues. 📈 by @morrell_live
