What an honor to attend the COWGIRL Magazine 30 Under 30 Leadership Summit and be surrounded by so many inspiring women shaping the future of the Western industry.

One of the biggest highlights was helping make Equine Therapy part of the conversation. Horses have such a profound ability to heal, teach, and connect us, and it meant so much to share that work in a room filled with women who understand the power of grit, heart, and service.

Hearing from all the speakers was such a gift. Each speaker brought wisdom, leadership, and a powerful reminder of what happens when women use their voices, stories, and platforms with purpose.

Grateful, inspired, and proud to keep carrying this mission forward.

During years of absolute, unhinged grief, horses met me exactly where I was. One horse in particular helped me move through that pain with a little more gentleness.
I was spending a lot of time on a ranch, @snowmasscreekoutfitters had lent some of their herd for the summer.
Before I even knew about Equine Therapy, I was already experiencing it. Riding, working, and simply being present with horses became grounding, intuitive, and healing.Though I grew up riding, returning to horses consistently was different: their sensitivity to human emotion mirrors us, while their steady presence helps regulate us.
One day in the pasture, that horse came to me on his own. Looking into his eyes, I felt like I met myself there that I was desperately trying to find, the part of me that was beginning to heal.
That moment eventually led me to WindWalkers and to a deeper understanding of the healing power of horses: physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual.

I am deeply grateful for my time on the ranch & the ones who are apart of it.
@howdymissamy Jeff Groom (🪽) my friends, community ,the individuals and families I am grateful to serve.
My family,MOST IMPORTANTLY my twin sister @alexandra.gitlitz Everything we have walked through together, she has been the light to my darkness. Her encouragement, love, & unwavering support continue to light my passion. I am so BLESSED God put us together to do this thing called life.

I am thankful to have had the opportunity to share my story with Equine Therapy on the @onwithmariolopez ABSOLUTELY NERVE-RACKING. I did not get to share this part of my story, vulnerably I am sharing it here.
It is an honor to serve the community where I was raised, where I have known loss, and where I have found purpose. @windwalkerstrc I am so fortunate to be apart of.
I miss my brother deeply, & every day.I now have the honor to serve others through his memory, his love, and the life he continues to inspire in me.

There is so much more to tell , I look forward to sharing more about Equine Therapy , & my journey.

For a long time, I stayed quiet. I believed my voice was too small to make a difference.
Then the horses taught me something people never could. They don’t respond to who you pretend to be. They respond to who you are. Being with them showed me that being honest is where healing starts, and that what we have been through can turn into something that helps other people.
Today, as Development Director at WindWalkers Equine Therapeutic Learning and Riding Center @windwalkerstrc , I get to use my voice for good. I raise support, tell the stories of the children, veterans and families we serve, and help keep a place open where healing happens.
I do not take a single day of that for granted.

Long before arenas, certifications, and therapy programs, the ancient Greeks noticed something we still see every day in our barn: horses help people heal. 🐎

Hippocrates, often called the father of medicine, is widely credited with writing about the “healing rhythm” of riding more than 2,000 years ago. Greek physicians saw that the motion of a horse could strengthen the body, improve balance, and lift the spirit. They didn’t have the research we have today. They trusted what they saw.

The Greeks understood what we see every day: healing can move at the pace of a horse.
From ancient Greece to Colorado, the horse is still one of our greatest teachers. 💛
