Today we opened the exhibition Fashion Spaces / A Spatial Practice Zines by @fashion.spaces at @fashionresearchlibrary! ❤️

So many thanks to the library for hosting us, to @elisebyolsen for the introduction, and to @hkristiania for supporting the opening event. A big thank you also to my co-professor @mortenkaels.

And most importantly, to the students of @ma_design_kristiania! You have been such a great group to work with: involved, responsive, curious and incredibly creative. Thank you for bringing so much energy to Fashion Spaces!

Come and see the final result: FASHION SPACES / A SPATIAL PRACTICE: «ZINES». A course by Vesma Kontere Mcquillan and executed by Master students at Kristiania University of Applied Sciences.
ZINES can be seen at International Library of Fashion Research / (NationalMuseum, Stasjonsmester byggingen)from 1800-2000 today until Friday this week.

It’s been great fun to follow students, give lectures on the topic of exhibition design and tutorials when needed during the period. A few pictures from workshops, course, visits at museums and Oslo Runway.

A feast for craftsmanship and the future of Venice. «The Only True Protest Is Beauty»

The exhibition is within the kept interiors of Palazzo Pisani Moretta. It responds to the palace and are based around centuries-old frescoes and decorative surfaces. Fashion, craft, and contemporary design enter into a conversation across time.

The title of the opening show is a reference the American artist Phil Ochs whose songs became protest anthems of the 1960s, and his “In such ugly times, the only true protest is beauty.» The title and the exhibition carries an ambition for Venice. A space for listening

Holy See Pavilion at Venice Biennale 2026: ‘The ear is the eye of the soul’. The pavilion is in The Giardino Mistico del Carmelitani Scalzi, a walled garden normally not open for visitor.

It is inspired by the life and work of Saint Hildegard von Bingen(1098-1179). She was a abbess, poet, healer, composer «A mind in whom theology, music, cosmology, and medicine are not separate but a way of continuous creation»

Created by Soundwalk Collective based on hymnes from Benedictine Nuns of the Abby of St. Hildegard Eibingen and overlaid sound created by artist as Patti Smith, Brian Eno and more.

The mystical garden is a feast for listening, silence and for exploring scents from plants and herbs in the garden.

The other venue of Holy See pavilion gives space for insights. Santa Maria Ausiliatrice Complex is a living archive, a space for research, restoration and production. An open work developed by Tatiano Bilbao Studio, MAIO architect and DOGMA Architects at the 2025 Architectural Biennale created for restoration and public engagement.

Enjoying the British/Indian artist Anish Kapoor at Palazzo Manfrin. The palazzo belongs to Anish Kapoor Foundation is and the exhibition is of about 100 models of Kapoors finished and unfinished work. Spaces, materials and connections for people that also is a work of architecture. The palace it self is a work in progress and decoration and materials exposing the life and construction of the Baroque palace from apporox 1520 and its various owners.
