Working on the lines on this Triplex Bench. Always a joy to do the final raffinement with rasp and spokeshave (the cigar spoke shave from @calebjamesmaker in case you wonder).

Second light sculpture in my wood and resin series (not sure I've shared the first one here). Turned off, it just looks like a textured piece of wood, no visible light source, no diffuser. Turn it on, and the light finds its way out through the grain. Still a work in progress, happy with where it's headed.

Currently available at the gallery, Morten Stenbaek’s seating works embody a deeply considered approach to contemporary design, where sculptural form meets exquisite craftsmanship.

His Fluxa Lounge Chair, which debuted at NOMAD Hamptons, and the Delicia Curv Lounge Chair each reveal a sensibility rooted in experimentation, tactility, and meticulous craftsmanship.

Shaped through a dialogue between material and form, Stenbaek’s chairs occupy the space between collectible design and functional sculpture. Their expressive silhouettes and hand-finished surfaces foreground the artisan’s touch, celebrating the subtle irregularities and precision that distinguish a singular, handmade work.

These are chairs conceived not simply to be seen, but experienced—objects in which craftsmanship becomes an aesthetic language of its own. taken in Todd Merrill Studio by @mortenstenbaek

Less is more. That was the mantra behind the Triplex design.
Everything cut down to a bare minimum — an organic shape that still holds a sculptural gracefulness.
The secret to making a design like this truly work? Attention to detail.
Beyond the hand-carved shaping and tight joinery, wood selection is everything — it's what creates the illusion that the whole piece is cut from a single block. Matching grain patterns across every joint so they disappear takes dedication. Sometimes it even means another trip to the lumberyard 😉

Proud to be part of @toddmerrillstudio's beautiful exhibition at @nomadcircle Hamptons this weekend. A true joy to see my Aries Chairs, DeleciaCurv Lounge Chair and Fluxa Chair among so many stunning pieces. Today – Sunday – is the last day. I really wish I could have been there myself 😊 What a beautiful booth 😍
