This weekend Flat Danley and his Yale team visited Museum of Fine Arts in Batumi where we explored works showcasing Georgian and Russian artistic traditions. This weekend our students explored Batumi Technology museum and discovered the fascinating legacy of the Nobel brothers whose innovations spurred Batumi’s industrial transformation. We also learned about rich tea-growing tradition and the role it played in development of Adjara region. After a long flight via Istanbul Flat Danley and his Yale team of students and faculty arrived in Batumi, Georgia for a start of Yale Summer Russian program. One of my favorite events in May is Marianna’s spring performance in New Haven Ballet at Shubert theater. This year it was Tchaikovsky magnificent Sleeping Beauty, and Marianna was a forest nymph and a soloist in the Garland variations. by @moskvichka12
