✨ A little behind the scenes 20th 3 Wishes anniversary surprise!

@sharpest_tooth and @theartofhollyalp were asked to create a surprise dance as a gift for Brian & Wendy Froud.

As part of the festival décor team, & because we had the same vision together.. I joined them in creating a magical @3wishesfairyfestival version of iconic 80s ballroom and fantasy scenes — celebrating the 20th anniversary of 3 Wishes Fairy Festival. 💖✨

Holly & I made 3 chandeliers & a huge mirror, while Armorel’s wonderful décor team created the Big Top drapes, beautiful details and decorations throughout the festival. My backdrop painting also made its way into the Dome for workshops.

Stephanie & Holly learned and practised a waltz, despite never having done this before — they did an amazing job! Stephanie choreographed the performance, while Ricky & I added our own elements all working together as a team beautifully, joined by: Hazel’s floating fans, Heather, Katie, Steve & @moss.myth.magic dancing & fawning over our dancers, & keeping our maiden away from Holly with Stephanie’s goblin box made it truly magical.

Rachel & Suzi presented gifts to Brian and Wendy, perfectly mirroring our key dancers. @enchanted_oaks masks are out of this world!

Andie flying Dave the barn owl was perfect in her night-sky gown. Dave was a last-minute addition after we realised the real owl could have been in danger from the chandelier’s fishing wire. Thank goodness Helen joined us at the last minute to drum!

Everyone’s costumes & masks were wonderful, & the talent in this group is exceptional. To top it all off, the incredible @lisa_mariemua sang live & brought the dream to life. ✨

Thank you to @chrisdownart for photographing us, & to everyone sending footage for our final edit.

& thank you to the wonderful independent cosplayers who joined us at the last minute: @covenbecs and @alicestrangeofficial 🔥💞

It was an honour to do this for Brian & Wendy Froud & show our love for everything they have given the world through their magic & artistry. 💖
If you have any footage, please send it our way for the final edit!

Almost two weeks on, and I am still reliving the magic of @3wishesfairyfestival with our homage to the King & Queen of Faery, Brian and Wendy Froud, and their huge contribution to 80s fantasy movies at the magical masquerade ball. To be asked to join the performance of this dance was a huge honour and such an emotional experience for me. I will treasure this memory, always.

The dance culminated in Brian & Wendy receiving a pair of stunning masks made by the talented @enchanted_oaks, a very special and meaningful gift. Our wonderful Sarah @sharpest_tooth choreographed the dance. Our very own Goblin King, Jareth @theartofhollyalp did a stunning job on the ballroom decor along with @addiena.raven.taldair. Swipe to see the goblin dancers. Final video footage coming soon!

What a wonderful memory of the culmination of months of work for such a magical experience ✨💖 I’m betting you know what our main inspiration was here.. but it wasn’t just about one film- it was all to honour and give thanks in person to the two wonderful artists who have inspired generations with all their incredible creations. This was to show #brianfroud and #wendyfroud a little of the magic they’ve given to so many people over all these decades, and give a little of their magic back to them .. the full reel also shows a little of their reaction at the end, and a little about everyone who was in the performance and how it was created.. and don’t forget to look for the rehearsals reel too which sadly glitched and isn’t linked to the full reel.. but is on my main grid if you want to see it, plus the reel of me and Holly making the chandeliers!
We’ll be at the next faerie Fayre and ball next month in #glastonbury .. to celebrate Brian & Wendy Froud’s new book launch! The theme is Green Women! Will you be there? Please do come and say hello if you can 💖✨🧚🏼‍♂️

What a whirlwind! Here is our little homage for Brian and Wendy Froud to say thank you for 40 years of our favourite fantasy films and all their work and inspiration they’ve given us.. as a very special project we’ve been working on for months for 20th anniversary of 3 Wishes Fairy Festival 💖🎉✨🧚🏼‍♂️ THANK YOU Vicky Bartlett for this video!!!! I’m watching it in tears! If anyone else has footage I’d be SO grateful if you could send it to me via we transfer for high quality - maybe after the festival when we have better signal - I’m hoping to get a good compilation made of all angles.
I’m So in awe of my amazing friends & want to do this shout out for them - our dancers are incredible & it worked! Our plan worked! We did it!!! 💖 Stephanie Symonds for choreographing it all! And being the best leading lady !!! The Art of Holly Alp as the king himself is a star!
