✨Sunday Shelfie✨ A very simple post today to show off my son in his current rightful place on my bookshelves. I hope you're all having a restful weekend and enjoying International Womens Day ✨ There are people making some amazing posts about it which i'll try and share a lot of today - it's always important and always political xo I'm off to a goth market today with some pals where i'll be trying to not spend all of my money 👀 What are your plans?? . . . . ✨Aardvark Book Club✨ Hello lovely friends !! I have internet finally and i am moved into my new place with my (very empty 👀) bookshelf.... so excited to start filling it up! And the lovely lovely folks over at @aardvarkbookclubuk have kindly gifted me a book box to help celebrate their launch in the UK! They have an excellent intro offer on atm (code: LAUNCH to get your first book for £8.99!) and they tailored their book choices for me based on my reading this year (so cute!!) so i've got a time loop murder mystery and a dark academia pick!! 🖤 the sweet @apaperhaven has made me VERY excited about Kiss Slay Replay and I think i'll be diving into that one first 👀 Hope everyone is having a good October so far!! 🎃 do you have any book subscriptions??🎃 by @mossy.reads

✨CLOSED✨ Hello friends! As some of you may know, i'm moving very soon (booooo) and this piece is not one that i'll be taking with me! It's one that has been shown a lot of love on here so I thought it'd be best for it to go to a home that would really appreciate it 🖤 The first photo is edited, and the second photo is the actual colour scheme in an unedited photo. It's sage, cream, and black. The third photo is how i feel about moving house 😭 UK only, sorry friends!! Postage is evil across the seas! You may enter from abroad if you are willing to cover the entire shipping cost and entering the giveaway is agreement to that, if you go back on this i will choose another winner. I will be closing it in one week from now on Saturday 10th October (10.10.26) To Enter: ✨ Must be following me! (i will check) ✨ Like and repost/share it! ✨ Tag a pal in the comments and maybe tell me your current read? ✨ Must be based in the UK (or see clause above) and willing to give me an address (which is also to say, be minimum 18 or have parental consent!) This is handmade by me and comes with all the lil flaws of being a handmade item!! Fun fact: it took me the entirety of my game of thrones rewatch to make it (about 70 hours of work!) Not associated with anyone but meeeeee 🖤 by @mossy.reads

✨Astarion - T.Kingfisher✨ Absolutely unsurprisingly i LOVED this one !!! I will say there was a fair degree of bias going in as T.Kingfisher is an absolute favourite author of mine and Baldurs Gate 3 is one of my favourite videogames (but arguably this makes me a perfect person to review the book!) Thank you so so much to @titanbooks for the early copy!! 🖤 Review is below but i've also included some of my fave astarion memes from my archives back when all i was playing bg3!! enjoy !!! ✨ Trying to keep this spoiler free but it is hard !! I absolutely LOVED this book! It felt very classic D&D with the 'quest' aspect, and the romance was well written in a way that felt true to the character as well... it felt quite to the point and in the sense that Astarion in the game conveyed where he was doing what he needed to manipulate and get what he needed or safety (even at the expense of himself and his emotions 😭) The plot was interesting and I didn't feel a lull at any point with the pacing and it made it really hard to put down! The other main characters we meet along the way are also really well done and provide a great avenue for exploring his motivations and really also worked to ground the character well. The deepening of understanding around Cazador and the relationships he had with the other spawn felt really on brand and also makes it an excellent read for anyone interested in understanding the game a little better. His connections, his parents, and his lineage all feed into the character that he became, although i'd love to have known more about the deal that was made with his mother but honestly it's such a small point in the story that it doesn't affect my overall enjoyment and really led nicely into the events we know happened next. Getting to learn more about Astarions' backstory outside of the hints dropped through the videogame was wonderful, I'd also recommend reading the warnings at the start of the book but again with his story it all made sense and nothing felt gratuitous or handled badly. Let me know if you've read/will be reading this one? 👀🖤 I also used this song bc i think it's for/about him and it makes me happy sad to hear it 🥲 by @mossy.reads

✨Autumn Reading✨ This post IS a sign of life !!! My reading recently has been suuuper comfort reading (looking at you Kingfisher..... of which I recently discovered I have read 12 of her books this year!) and i'm trying to get myself into a bit more of an evil witchy mood for my fave season ! With life being how it is recently i'm struggling to get into the vibes of approaching samhain and i'm hoping introducing some horror (or horror adjacent) books into my reading menu for the next month will get me warmed up !! The Shadow Of the Object was also the book that stood out to me the most from the Booker longlist and it's been provided at a very apt time, thank you @vintagebooks and @vintagebooksinfluencers for this gift copy 🖤 I also discovered these books make a cute gradient 🥹 hence the stack being born. How is everyone feeling with the approach of Halloween? 👀 and have you read any of these books?? i'd love to know ! Books Included: ✨The Only Good Indians - Stephen Graham Jones ✨A Dowry of Blood - S.T. Gibson ✨We Are Always Tender With Our Dead - Eric LaRocca ✨The Unworthy - Agustina Bazterrica ✨ Mere - Danielle Giles ✨ Decomposition Book - Sara Van Os ✨ The Shadow of the Object - Chloe Aridjis I'm currently living on 3hrs of sleep and a dream rn but i'm putting together a lil mega review post hehe I wanna share some of the cool stuff i've been reading recently!!! by @mossy.reads
