W.I.T.C.H challenge 🖤🧙‍♀️🧹

Some time ago I did a challenge where I had to spell out "witch" using book titles and I really enjoyed making it. So with the spooky season upon us I want to give it another go and pass it on to my fellow witches 🖤🖤

No pressure tho 🖤

Autumn TBR 🍂🍄🍁

Today marks the autumn equinox which means spooky season has officially begun in my mind. 🙂‍↕️🙌 Both @tiredgirl.reads and @ghoulnextdoor.reads tagged me to share my autumnal TBR, so here are the books I'm wanting to prioritise through October and into November! 🧡

The number one must read book for me is The Once and Future Witches which has been on my bookshelf for literal YEARS. Every October I tell myself I'll pick it up and yet it sits there waiting patiently to be cracked open.... but this is the year that changes. Hold me accountable please. 😂

What's on your radar this autumn?! Do you reach for more cosy reads or spooky reads this time of year? 👻

Also peep the adorable crochet pumpkins that @mossy.reads made for me a while back. I look forward to digging them out every year. 🥹🎃

#Bookstagram #AutumnVibes #HorrorBooks #WitchyBooks #OctoberTBR A stack of six books is on a wooden table. Two crochet pumpkins sit atop the stack, one orange and one green. There are also a pair of lit candles with dripping wax.

📚 The S Stack 📚

I was tagged by the lovely @bookish.brookes to do the "first letter of your name" stack challenge 🖤

I was surprised by how few books I have that start with an S! This stack is all bar one, which is a paperback and looked out of place so it didn't make the cut 😂

Also surprisingly I have actually read all the books in this stack and they are some of my absolute favorites!

🖤 Seasons of Glass and Iron by Amal El-Mohtar (fave 🌟)
🖤 Slewfoot by Brom
🖤 Starling House by Alix E Harrow
🖤 The Starving Saints by Caitlin Starling
🖤A Song of Legends Lost by M H Ayinde (fave 🌟)

Is anyone else feeling a bit autumnal lately? I'm just glad to not be sweating every time I step outside, this summer was a lot!!

I've tagged a few of you, but no pressure to take part!

Autumnal tbr 🍂📚🍄 (also known as: Emma is ridiculously ambitious!)

I was tagged by @shona_reads_in_devon, who had a decently chunky stack herself, to share the books I want to read this autumn.

While we’re technically still 10 days away from Official Autumn, today was the first slightly-cold day we’ve had for a while so I thought it was high time I got my tbr ready. The silly thing is, I’ve been stockpiling spooky/gothic/horror books all year with the idea that I’ll have a perfectly themed autumn and now I have SO many to get through 😅

I also really want to finish The Realm of the Elderlings series before the end of the year and have the Fitz and the Fool trilogy to go but idk where I’m going to fit that in 🫣

I’ve tagged a few people to share their autumn tbrs and I’m hoping others are just as ambitious as I am to make me feel a tad better 🤣

💭Which ones should I prioritise? Any advice is welcome!!!

It’s still hot, gang! A red, orange and yellow stack to mark the high temperatures🔥❤️🧡💛🥵

Absolutely aggggges ago, the lovely Georgia @pekoesbooknook tagged me to create a red, orange and yellow book stack and I thought it fit perfectly with the heat we’ve been experiencing lately.

Tbh the weather has sent me into a sort of climate crisis spiral as I firmly believe we shouldn’t be reaching these consistently high temperatures. That coupled with the reports that over 62% of the USA is experiencing a drought because water is being pumped into data centres has tipped me over the edge into believing we’re living in a dystopian reality where technology is valued over human life.

To stick with my ecological focus, I’ve tagged a few people and I challenge you to create a blue and green stack to reflect the world that we should be working hard to protect. 💙💚🌍

Happy National Best Friend Day ~ not that we need a day to love our best friends, but why not make the most of it whilst it’s here🫶

I would actually consider everyone I’ve met on bookstagram a bookish bestie in one way or another. I feel so lucky to have met so many wonderful people across these years. I’ve had so many amazing book recs, chinwags, and heart to hearts with like minded folk, so thank you for making the world a less lonely place, you are all my bookish besties🥰

But, here are just a handful of you, who have inspired me, encouraged me, or given me something wonderful to think about, all just by being you! Please only ever continue to be exactly who you all are, you deserve all the flowers and if I could gift those to you I absolutely would🌷✨

If you’ve got any amazing bookish besties too (which I’m sure you do) let me know!! I always want to meet more book worms 📚🐛

💚 Green Stack Challenge 🌱 Mental Health Awareness Month 💚

🍀 Thank you @witch_shelfie for the tag. Everyone is welcome to join the challenge!

🍀 As May is coming to an end, I'd to say a few words about depression. This month, while it was better than April, there were still days while even the blazing sun couldn't pierce through the haze that draped over my shoulders. The battle against the voices in my head is one that won't simply go away. Throughout the years, however, I have learned to navigate it better; and one of the ways for me to keep myself from taking that step over the edge is talking to people. If you're struggling, reach out to people. I know it may seem hopeless most of the time, seem like you're a burden to many, but I assure you we all want you around. My DM is always open if anyone ever needs to vent 💚 I may not have an answer or a solution, but I will listen.

🍀 Featuring this green stack we have: Cage of Souls, The Tainted Cup, In the Shadow of Their Dying, A Catalogue of the End of Humanity, Daughter of the Empire, Perdido Street Station, and Earthsea.

🍀 Song choice: Truce by Twenty One Pilots. As Tyler Joseph said, "You will die, but now your life is free. Take pride in what is sure to die." Stay alive 💚

Book Challenge| Birthstone Stack 🌸

On Wednesday's we wear pink!
Birth month: October | Birthstone : Opal & Tourmaline.🪷

As im trying to be more organised when it comes to my bookstagram life, I've decided to try and do challenges as and when Im tagged going forward to avoid the backlog. 🙃

I was tagged in this challenge by @mossy.reads and I honestly didn't know that October has two birthstones. Was I the only one that didn't know this!? 🎀

It's not often I find a challenge also educational but heres some history about different civilisations interpretation about Opals mythical properties that I found rather intersting.🤍

'As opal has the colors of other gems , the Romans thought it was most precious and powerful of all. The Bedouins believed that opals contained lightning and fell from the sky during thunderstorms. The ancient Greek believed opals gave their owners the gift of prophecy and guarded them from disease; while Europeans have long considered the gem a symbol of hope, purity and truth.' 🔮

I think this might be the most girly pink thing I've ever posted. I barely had enough pink books for this 😂 so I'm fully embracing it with this song too. I guarantee you'll be singing it all day. 🎵 🎶 You're welcome 😚

As always I'll tag a few people but no pressure 🩷
