I am the music, the curly hair, the face, the body, the writer, the ambition I am for my mother. I have not been a good, understanding daughter for the last few years. I have shown tantrums, fought against her, been a rebel, been selfish and been rude along the way. Hence it feels futile to become emotional one day and write a caption about my mother. But here we are. My mother wants to keep me near her, I want to keep chasing my “dreams”. There is a huge ambition clash for what she wants for me and what I want for myself. But this picture, this damn picture makes me cry every fuckin time, brings me back to the little girl in her early 30s who has sacrificed god knows how many things for which I can afford to keep chasing my dreams today. I am loaded with privileges today which she didn’t have. It becomes all easy when you realise your mother is also doing life for the first time. I wish you a healthy life and a happy living for yourself, doing things for yourself , which you have already started doing. Life in the 50s, beyond children, would be new and weird, it would also be one hell of a fun too. You are a good, cute, messy mother as it should be. Happy mother’s day ❤️

So I have been looking at all these pictures of Brahmaputra Riverfront over the Internet, but little did I know that it was the renovation of the Umananda Ghat. For all of us who studied in Cotton, this ghat held so many memories. I have been there countable times back then (thanks to my PG curfew) but it was always the go to place when we needed a go to place. You see that picture with the children playing around, I have been there and my feet was deep down in the mud once and I slipped.

So, I thought they were making some flyover in that area, but I really liked what they have built. Surely, the old place was small, cozy, bumpy; but the new one provides safer and closer and wider view of the river. The river feels like a sea now. And there are such cute sitting area, and also all the pavements, and the leisure option. I don’t like the idea of a park, never liked a park before, I don’t know if it’s a park, it’s not ig, hence I liked it. The afternoon spent there was so unexpectedly mine. I can spend hours there. Sunset is due.

I saw people of all ages walking through the place. I hope Guwahati develops more of the outing and socialisation culture across age groups. I hope it provides room jamming sessions and small discussion , idea exchange groups (without microphones). I hope it provides room to the homesick, and that new person in the city who hasn’t yet made a friend to go out and have tea with and to the blooming college romances, and to some person having midlife crisis or to the students in the PGs who lose their minds in their small rooms during weekends.

I am so relieved that Uzaanbazaar got something permanent to keep its charm. It was and would remain the most beautiful place of Guwahati for me and for many of us now.

Also, Have 25 years old actually started looking like 25 years old? :)

Two months in Itanagar.
The city gave me some hard time to get some pretty frames, and this is all I could gather. I guess I need to be more creative to dig the beauty of it.
It’s full of broken infrastructure, non coloured greyish buildings and just a distant mountain. It’s a haphazard city. One of the rare times where your “work” compensates and comes for rescue.

It’s also expensive. But people compensate it by being sweet and nice
