After the high i’ve been on since hosting my 2nd #tsukisoul event It’s official — I’ve just registered my company and I’m starting my own label, Solid 08 Records. 🎶💿

To everyone who’s supported all my musical endeavours over the years — come to a show, caught a DJ set or event, tuned into the radio show, passed on my details for bookings or offered words of encouragement — thank you. Such a great night seeing GENA at Oslo, London with my friends Daniel Oduntan and Amar Patel — the same crew I went to see James Mason with last year 🙌🏾🎶

GENA is a collaboration project between Liv.e and Karriem Riggins, and their album The Pleasure Is Yours has easily been the best soul project in recent years

After seeing their Tiny Desk performance, I wanted to catch them live even more — and I’ve been buzzing since.

Still smiling after yesterday’s #CityPopWaves. 🌴☀️

So grateful to have seen #MasayoshiTakanaka with some of my favourite people for the second time this year. His music never fails to remind me how joyful life can be, and hearing these songs live is always something special.

Huge love to his incredible band: Akira Okazawa (bass), Masahiro Miyazaki (drums), Nobu Saito (percussion), Kaoru Inoue & Rina Takamoto (keyboards), and AMAZONS (Yuko Ohtaki & Kumi Saito) on backing vocals. Every one of them was phenomenal.

Sadly I missed the support sets from Junko Yagami, Himiko Kikuchi, and Ginger Root, but it was such a privilege to have them all on the bill.

Already looking forward to the next one in Wembley. 💛 taken in Crystal Palace Concert Bowl by @motionhyrule
