Three second year genetic counseling graduate students, Ashley Johnson, Kayla Wypasek, and Danielle Niblock, are also part of the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) fellowship through the Rose F. Kennedy Center at Montefiore Einstein in the Bronx, NY.

They will be hosting an event in collaboration with Positive Exposure on Saturday, February 21st, from 12-3pm.🎉

This FREE event is designed for children with neurodevelopmental disorders and their families to enjoy a positive space and environment to celebrate differences.

The event will be taking place at the Positive Exposure Gallery in downtown Manhattan. You can walk through the gallery, make sensory and inclusive crafts, and even have your portrait taken by a Positive Exposure photographer! 🎨🧑‍🎨📸

Please RSVP using the QR code above - RSVPs are not required to come to the event but it will help them to have a general idea of how many guests to expect! Feel free to share this event with providers, families, and friends. See you on February 21st☺️ taken in Positive Exposure by @mountsinaigcprogram

It’s Genetic Counselor Appreciation Day!🧬🎉

Genetic counselors are an important part of your healthcare team. Genetic counselors work in many fields and specialties, with the majority seeing patients, but genetic counselors play crucial roles in research, education, industry, and marketing as well. Genetic counselors are necessary for modern healthcare, promoting informed decision-making and improving personalized medicine.

Genetic Counselor Appreciation Day not only aims to raise awareness about the field of genetic counseling, but celebrates the compassion, leadership, and expertise of genetic counselors. If you are a genetic counselor or someone who wants to learn more, check out NSGC.org! ✨ by @mountsinaigcprogram
