Happy National Nutrition Month! 🥑🍓
This month we celebrate the importance of nutrition towards our health. I would like to thank all of the RDs and nutritionist doing the work to educate people on the importance of food in life.
I would like to extend an EXTRA thank you to all Dietitians working in Genetics. Growing up in hospitals with you all by my side has made it so much easier to live with PKU so thank you for all your hard work! 😊
In honor of National Nutrition Month I will try and post once a week with something to keep you all entertained! 🙌

POV: You’re told you carry a genetic mutation. Your life splits in two — before and after.

This is the kind of news that steals your breath and floods your mind with fear.

But here’s what I want you to remember:

🩷 You are not broken.
🩷 You are not alone.
🩷 You have options. You have strength. You have time.

It’s okay to feel grief. But don’t forget — you are still in control.
And this? This is the beginning of your healing.

MOUNT SINAI!!!

Oh my god. Sinai was my first pick, and here it is! I genuinely feel dizzy (and maybe need a lie down). So grateful and excited to be attending such an amazing program!

The program at Mt. Sinai includes rotations in lysosomal and metabolic genetics among other specialties. Perfect if you’re interesting to go beyond the core three areas of cancer, pediatric, and prenatal genetics.

Navigating life with a BRCA2 gene mutation means making tough choices to stay ahead of cancer risk. 💪🏼

Recently, my doctor found a polyp on one ovary and recommended removing both ovaries to reduce my risk of ovarian cancer.

While this is one option, I’ll be seeking a second opinion from a specialist to explore all my preventative choices. Remember, it’s crucial to stay informed and make decisions that feel right for YOU. 💗✨

Our annual Colorectal Cancer Event, held on March 26th at the Mount Sinai Hospital Guggenheim Pavilion Lobby, featured an informative experience utilizing an inflatable colon and the expertise of our Mount Sinai staff. We aimed to raise awareness about colon cancer and stress the importance of early screening and detection. These events are vital for public education and advocating preventive healthcare practices. We extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in this event. We eagerly look forward to continuing this tradition next year and invite you to join us once again!

Colorectal cancer screening extends beyond March. Join us in taking proactive steps: Schedule your colorectal cancer screening at 212-824-7887 and Get Your Rear in the Clear! #coloncancerawareness #earlydetectionsaveslives #mountsinaistrong
