ANNOUNCEMENT 📢 I am deeply proud and happy to announce that I will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon, in October 2026, in memory of my beloved late mother. As many of you who follow me will know, my mother sadly and suddenly passed away at the end of October, abruptly and without warning, from acute pancreatitis.Acute pancreatitis is not a disease that I knew much about before this experience, I was not aware of how deadly, mericiless and painful it could be, until I witnessed my poor mother experience it.So, I have chosen to run a half marathon to honour my mum’s life, and to recognise her bravery, and courage in fighting this horrible and life altering disease. I have chosen to run for @gutscharityuk because they raise awareness of acute pancreatitis and the people it affects. I also aim to raise awareness around this disease, so others can see the warning signs earlier and hopefully avoid the pain and suffering that it can bring. For me, running a half marathon was already on the list for my 2026 goals, but now, I feel deeply devoted to run for justice for my mum and all others going through a similar experience. What I know for sure, is if she could tolerate the pain she went through in her last days, I can tolerate the pain of training and racing of a half marathon. It is truly an honour to be able to run this for my Mum, and to raise awareness around the frightening impact pancreatitis. If you’d like to support me, in my race for my mum and others affected by this cruel disease, then please donate in the link below, and in bio:https://www.justgiving.com/page/moni-kanthan-2?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CLThank you all so much in advance🙏🏽I hope to make you proud Mum. Life can change in the blink of an👁️ One day you can hugging your parent goodbye after they’ve come to visit you.The next you can be running down corridors of a hospital, wondering how much time they have left. This analogy is very real, this is my life. This was my October of 2025.Two weeks before my mum died, she was at my flat I cooked her dinner, we drank herbal tea.Our sausage dog grinned as we enjoyed each other’s company. In the days, before her death, we spoke every single day on the phone. It was coincidence, even though I did call her regularly. It was not every day, but for some reason in those few weeks I did, and boy am I glad I did.The night before my mum went into hospital, we spoke on the phone just as we always did.Talking about something completely normal, that was the last moment of normality I’ve had since October 2025.The next day, she fell down in hospital and was rushed to the ARCU. Our lives changes forever.24 hours later, she was moved to the ICU, and 48 hours after that - she was gone.So when I say, life can change in the blink of an eye, I mean it.The start of my week that week, and the end, looked completely different. It began with life and ended in death. This is how fleeting life is, my friend. Don’t put off those dreams, don’t stay in situations where you aren’t appreciated.Life is too short, and none of us know how much time we have left. Live now, live authentically, live truly to you.Because just as mine did, your life could flip on its head at any time too. And then, all these things you’ve let hold you back? They won’t matter. You’ll wonder why you let them hold you back from living your one beautiful, brilliant life. Please get out there and go and live. This is it, there is no back up plan, it’s now, or never.Create the life you deserve and that feels good in your soul, so that when you are in old age and nearing the end.You can look back and say, boy oh boy, did I live. With Love❤️Always.Moni xx.If you too have lost a loved one, then follow along —> @moveandmindwithmoni I’m so glad you’re here🫂 .#grief #griefjourney #griefsupport #live by @moveandmindwithmoni

To the one carrying grief alone❤️‍🩹⬇️This is for you.I want you to know, I see you.I see how hard it is, I understand. To lose your last parent not your other parent is a different type of pain. The also have no siblings to help share to weight of all of the responsibility that comes after, is incredibly hard.To walk through grief and all that comes with it, alone.Requires unthinkable strength, grit, courage and grace. If this is you, I want you to know just how strong you are.Managing grief, whilst handling all of the affairs of your lost loved one, is no easy feat.To even be able to say, I choose to carry on in the morning, whilst you’re carrying so much.Is one of the clearest signs of strength. Not everyone is placed in this position, because not everyone can carry it.But you can.And no, that doesn’t make it okay, definitely not.It doesn’t take away the pain, but it does deserve to recognised. You deserve to be recognised, for your quiet strength.Your steady pace, you inner resilience and your unshakable courage. There are few that know how much strength this truly takes.I’m sorry if you do, but I hope that you will give yourself all of the love you deserve as you carry this alone.Give yourself patience, understanding and compassion.Because you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders.I see you, I acknowledge you, I understand.Be proud of yourself, for choosing to carry on. You are the epitome of strength, my friend. With so much love❤️‍🩹Always.Moni xx.If you too have lost a loved one, then follow along —>@moveandmindwithmoni My name is Moni, and I am a Grief Awareness Advocate & Life Motivator. Sudden loss is a particular type of pain.It is specific type of loss. It’s not the same as losing someone who is terminally ill. With that you have time, you get a warning.Whilst it doesn’t make it okay, not at all - and no loss is worse than the other. With sudden loss, you’re left scrambling for answers, clarity and meaning. The brain simply cannot comprehend it so it protects you by going into shock and denial. This is the first stage of grief, and it can last for quite a while.I only came out of shock a few months ago, and I would say I am still in partial denial.I know my mum is gone, but I’m still wrapping my mind around the idea that she’s never coming back. This is an unbearably hard thing to accept.Even if, like me, you watched your loved one die and saw their body after they were gone. This is a great trauma within itself, a great tragedy. The impact of sudden loss on a person is severe, because your brain doesn’t have a minute to catch up.Instead, it catches up for months after, and so your grief is gradually sieved through to you.In stages, in moments - so that your system can slowly begin to adjust. With sudden loss, your emotions can feel astronomical. Much larger than you, this is normal - what I’ve found has helped me is therapy and leaning on trusted loved ones.I will also say, that leaning on myself has helped too. Curating a sanctuary of peace within me, that I can always access.Has given me great peace. Another thing that helps me, is that I know my mum didn’t want to go, and she couldn’t help it.It was no one’s fault, it’s just how it went.Sometimes when I am sad, I think of her and how she would encourage me out of this place I’m in.On the dark days, I remember her cheering me on as supporting me as she always did in life. This helps me find a way, to carry on.Sudden loss, is a different type of loss and it should be recognised for how difficult it is. If you have experienced sudden loss please ensure you are reaching out for the support you need. With Love,Moni xx.#grief #griefjourney #suddendeath #loss #griefjourney by @moveandmindwithmoni

Grief feels like a current that is always pushing you under. That you can’t escape from, no matter how hard you try.It won’t let up.It’s fierce. It’s strong. It’s relentless. Some days I feel the current dragging me down so mercilessly. I have no choice but to let it drown me.I let it submerge and consume me so that I can feel what it asks me too.And in doing so I set myself free. Not free from the pain, but free from the suffering.Pain and suffering are two different things.Pain is unavoidable in life, grief causes deep pain. But suffering? That is a choice. We cause ourselves more suffering by staying down, by the story we attach to what’s happened.By how we choose to react to what’s happened. It’s in your reaction that your power lies, you have a choice. You don’t have to stay down, you can choose to get back up.To fight. The current of grief is brutal, there’s no way around that and honestly? There shouldn’t be.There’s no quick fix, avoidance of pain, or instant solution. And I don’t think there should be, to know love, is to also know loss. You don’t get one without the other, it’s the way of life.So when the waves of grief come to drag you down, let them.Let them take you under, go down with them to the darkness of the ocean and ask themWhat are you trying to teach me?And then let yourself learn.Let yourself understand.Let yourself be carved.By the depth of your grief, and loss.Let it shape you, let it refine you. Then let yourself rise, again and again. Each time stronger, fiercer and more valiant than before. This is what it means to experience grief and loss, it is to let go of control and let grief take its course. No emotion, no state and no darkness can last forever. When you’re deep in the darkness my friend, look for the light. With so much love & compassion❤️‍🩹Always.Moni xx.If you too are grieving, then follow along -> @moveandmindwithmoni My name is Moni, and I am a Grief Awareness Advocate & Life Motivator. DO THE HARD THING, HERE’S WHY❤️‍🩹⬇️Your bran will always find an excuse as to why you shouldn’t do the hard thing. This is because as humans we are wired to seek comfort. But comfort doesn’t always = happiness. What is comfortable to us is simply what we are used to.But what if I told you, you can change that - it’s not set in stone. Now I’m not suggesting it’s always easy, or that this change will happen over night. No - but what I am saying is you can challenge your idea of “normal” and then change it.This then changes what you believe about yourself and what you believe you’re capable of.It allows you to bring yourself closer to the version of you, you know you want to be.Your higher self.Yesterday I went for my first run in 5 weeks, after sustained another ankle sprain. This set me back physically and mentally, so naturally when I thought of going for a run, what did my brain say?It said no.It said - I’d rather stay here where it’s comfortable. It gave me all the excuses as to why I shouldn’t go.But - I chose to ignore those thoughts, knowing that I am not my thoughts.I am the consciousness behind them, therefore I can choose which thoughts I believe. This is a powerful shift on your healing journey.Once you realise, you are in control of what you allow yourself to believe - the game changes.I taught myself by going for that run, that I can do hard things. And you can too.Next time, you feel resistance before doing something hard I want you to challenge yourself by doing it anyway. This will change your life, your self image and how you show up.This concept is very helpful for grievers because when we are grieving we are so hard on ourselves. When actually now more than ever we need to be kind.Use this mindset shit this weekend and let me know in the comments below how you get on⬇️Looking forward to hearing from you🫂As always,Sending Love❤️ Moni xx.#grief #griefjourney #griefsupport #mindsetshift #powerofthemind by @moveandmindwithmoni

THINGS GRIEVERS WANT YOU TO KNOW, BUT WONT TELL YOU❤️‍🩹⬇️1. It’s not okay - it’s not okay at all. We might not say this out loud because we don’t want to burden anyone. We don’t want to stay stuck in our grief either - but it’s not okay. There is no way that seeing your loved ones cold body after they’ve died, or holding their hand once they’ve passed - will ever be okay. It hurts in our soul, but we have to find a way to carry on. Otherwise two lives will have been lost that day.2. We want to talk about them - please ask us about our lost loved one. They are always on our mind, we want to talk about them. This helps us keep them alive in some shape and form. It helps us carry them with us, and still have a place where we can feel them. Please ask.3. It’s hella lonely - grief will make you feel alone in a way nothing else ever has before. Especially grief of your last living parent. There’s something about losing your only parent that removes all layers of protection. Suddenly it’s just you, alone in the world. Even if you have support, it’s incredibly isolating. 4. We need support - we need you to support us, in whatever way you can. Show up, be there, let us know you’re in our corner. It means far more to us than you’ll ever know. A small act is still an act, and all acts are appreciated from you.5. We are scared - honestly we are petrified, about how to navigate the world without them. What will it look like? How will it feel? Will we find happiness and peace again? It’s a very scary place to be, losing a parent - your guidance, compass and anchor are all gone. Now you have to be that for yourself, this is no easy feat. It’s very scary. As always,Sending Love❤️‍🩹Moni xx.Share this ➡️ with someone you’re too afraid to tell today, and let’s open our hearts to being supported today - we all need a little support❤️If you too are grieving the loss of a loved one, then follow along —> @moveandmindwithmoni My name is Moni, and I am a Grief Awareness Advocate & Life Motivator. Losing my mum, helped me find my life’s purpose❤️‍🩹⬇️Hi👋🏽 - I’m Moni, and 8 months ago I suddenly lost my mum. This is our story. My mum was a doctor, and the day that she was taken into ARCU to be treated and monitored, she was actually already in hospital tending to a patient.I thank my lucky stars that she was already in hospital that day, because it meant she had access to immediate care.My mum had acute pancreatitis, it came on suddenly and it took her down fast. She went into the ARCU on Tuesday and she died on the Friday. This devastating chain of events would go on to change the trajectory of my life forever. My mum and I were very close so it’s no surprise that her death would inspire me to become a Grief Awarness Advocate & Life Motivator.I want to help as many people as I can going through grief feel less alone. Since losing my mum, I have never felt so alone.Even though I have a strong circle of support, I don’t have loads of people that truly get it. I realised most grievers don’t.This is my why, I don’t want other people to feel the cutting edge of loneliness as I did. I want to create safe spaces where people feel welcome. My aim is to raise awareness around grief so that people have a reference point when they come to go through it.I also aim to remind you of the finality of life. We spend so much time on autopilot as humans, without even realising it.I challenge you to look at your life and really ask, am I living, or just surviving? There’s no judgement here, I was on autopilot for most of my life, before now.But once you realise you are, you have this beautiful thing called choice. You can choose to see the colours again. To smell the roses, the feel the warm ocean air on your face. To make the most of your one precious life.I’ve created this space, for grievers to come together and find purpose and meaning again in their lives after loss.To feel seen, heard and validated. Because how you feel matters, you matter. If you too have lost a loved one, then follow along —> @moveandmindwithmoni And let’s heal our hearts together❤️‍🩹Moni xx#grief #griefjourney #griefsupport #belonging #youmatter by @moveandmindwithmoni

Losing a loved one, will make you re think your entire life. This is probably unsurprising, as when something as big as losing a parent happens, everything is changed.Nothing feels the same, once they’ve gone - even though some parts look the same. It’s in the feeling. It’s in the rawness. It’s in the uncertainty. It’s in the unknown.Life is flipped turned upside down and on some days, all you can do is hold on, for dear life.Moving through grief is a roller coaster, you will feel the full spectrum of human emotion. One day, you’ll be happy, then next in despair, following that you’ll feel joy, and then sadness.Let it happen.Don’t run, learn to ride the waves of emotion. One day, you’ll look back and see - you learnt to surf the currents of grief and you’ll be so proud of yourself.Grief makes you re think your whole life, you will question who you are now, where you want live. How you want to spend your days, now you’ve seen the finality of life up close. They say, don’t make any major life decisions within 12 months of losing someone. As I approach 9 months without my mum in a few weeks, I’m starting to think about how I want my life to look now, more.I’m beginning to understand where I want to be, who I want to be, what I want to do - without her.No matter what I choose, I know she is with me every step of the way in spirit. Guiding me, happy for me and so proud of her daughter. For me, that’s enough.Let your life change after grief, let yourself re think it, re create it - it may turn out you like your new life, a lot more than you thought. What a beautiful thought. With Love❤️Always.Moni xx.If you too are grieving then follow along —>> @moveandmindwithmoni My name is Moni, and I am a Grief Advocate & Life Motivator. WAYS TO SUPPORT A GRIEVER❤️‍🩹⬇️1. Let them talk about them - as much or as little as they want to. This one seems obvious but often people don’t know just how much grievers want to talk about their lost loved ones. Ask them about their loved one, let them keep them alive through their memory.2. Never push them - don’t push them to do anything they don’t want to do or aren’t ready to do. As a griever their capacity will be very different to what it was before - be patient while they navigate this. If they seem unsure do not push.3. Be patient - be patient, we are learning how to live without one of the most important people in our lives. This is a colossal adjustment, it is going to take some time - we may never fully be “over it”. It’s important you understand this, it will always be a part of us.4. Help them with basic chores - this one often goes over looked, help with cooking, cleaning; organising, sorting can mean so much on the days when we have no energy. Those days are very hard and support is so welcome, when we have nothing left.5. Check on them often - check in with grievers often, even if it’s just simply to say hello. If you don’t know what to say, that’s ok - simply being present is more than enough. It means everything to know we are not alone. As always,Sending Love❤️Moni xx.If you too are grieving then follow along —>> @moveandmindwithmoni My name is Moni, and I am a Grief Awareness Advocate & Life Motivator. Losing a parent is one of the hardest things you will ever experience❤️‍🩹⬇️And, if like me it was your only parent - it can be particularly shattering.Your sense of safety, comfort, direct and identity are suddenly gone. You feel like you’re free falling through life without a safety net, without them. This can feel very disorienting because you’ve been used to having them there for so long. One thing I’ve found particularly difficult is not being able to replicate the safety and comfort my mum brought me.The mother daughter bond, no matter how old you get is irreplaceable. It’s a unique relationship and truly no one on this earth will care for you as your mother did. This is a brutal reality. It takes time to adjust to.I’m still adjusting 8 months later. What I’ve found also to be quite difficult is witnessing other people still have their parents.Whilst I am of course happy that they do, there is a deep grief in this and it should be named. It’s not easy to constantly see a bond, you know, you’ll never have again. It’s really tough, and I want that to recognised. What you can do, which I would suggest - is slowly when you feel ready begin to rebuild your relationship with yourself. In a similar way, support yourself as they once did, love yourself as they once did and be your own cheerleader as they once were. You are still their daughter, or son and they would still want you to be looked after. So please look after yourself, the brutal reality is that no else is going to, you must do it for yourself. In time you will adjust and this will get easier - for now, I want to validate your pain, and just how hard this is.It’s very hard, but you are also extremely strong - and you will get through this. With so much love & compassion❤️‍🩹Always.Moni xx.If you too are grieving, then follow along —>> @moveandmindwithmoni And let’s heal our hearts together. My name is Moni, and I am a Grief Awareness Advocate & Life Motivator. You are a different version of you, to everyone who knows you.I think that’s so beautiful. In our lifetime we have may different connections, friendships, relationships and encounters.Lots of who, all knew different versions of you.One friend may have known you at school. The other at university. Some from work, or through social clubs. The beautiful thing about this, is that they all know a piece of you.One that you can only access through them. Each connection comes from a different stage of your life, and so helps you remember that stage. As a griever, this becomes particularly important because they all represent different stages of your life.Different parts of your identity.Grief throws your sense of identity up into the air and you will run to catch it.But what if, we can re learn all the parts of who were before through the people around us.If we choose to.If you choose to let go of your old identity that’s okay too. That’s your choice. But for me, there has been so much comfort in collecting the parts of me in all of those who knew me.Gathering them in again, like one does with sea shells on the beach.Except this time, keeping only what makes sense now, the parts that I like - and discarding the rest.To make room for who I am becoming.Feeling blessed to be able to find myself again in the ones around me.With Love❤️ Always.Moni xx..If you too are grieving, then follow along —>> @moveandmindwithmoni My name is Moni, and I am a Grief Awareness Advocate & Life Motivator.
