Long Beach go out and VOTE 🗳 Election day is November 3rd 🗣 by @movelbforward
Sign up to be a neighborhood poll protector in Long Beach and learn how you can look out for your neighbors, and your local polling place.📢 The current administration is trying to rig the outcomes of the election by creating chaos, fear, and new roadblocks. That’s why, we’re joining We Are CA in training thousands of Neighborhood Vote Protectors across the state to watch the polls in their communities, safely safely document and report incidents to legal experts, and make sure every voter knows their rights to cast a ballot without fear or intimidation. 🗳️ RSVP at laane.org/protectpolls or the link in our bio! by @movelbforward
❤️ Every child deserves to be loved, nurtured, protected, and given the opportunity to thrive. Our children deserve schools that see their brilliance, honor their humanity, and respond to their needs with care, not punishment. But what happens when normal childhood behavior is treated like a crime? 🎬 Join us for our next Conscious Cinema screening, as we show: PRESCHOOL TO PRISON, an Emmy Award-winning documentary directed by Dr. Karen Baptiste and produced by Empress Films. @preschooltoprisondoc The film exposes how the school-to-prison pipeline can begin with children as young as two years old, disproportionately harming Black and Brown children, especially those with disabilities. Through powerful personal stories and expert insights, we examine how systemic racism, implicit bias, and harsh disciplinary policies turn opportunities for learning and growth into punishment, exclusion, and criminalization. 📅 Saturday, October 24 | 5:30–8:30 PM 📍 BLU Art & Wellness Gallery | 580 Pine Ave., Downtown Long Beach 🎟️ FREE & OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY Following the film, we'll come together for a community conversation about how parents, caregivers, educators, advocates, and neighbors can challenge harmful practices and build schools rooted in dignity, healing, belonging, and care. Our children are not problems to be punished. They are full of potential, worthy of protection, and deserving of every opportunity to flourish. Bring your family, friends, educators, and anyone who believes in a better future for our children.
