Helping women find balance between movement & motherhood🤍
♡ Mum of two | Pre & postnatal trainer
♡︎ Move with me 👇🏽
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
My time in this industry — coupled with motherhood — has taught me so much.
It’s allowed me to evolve, shift perspective, and adapt to the different seasons that come with life (and motherhood).

Hard lessons, but ones that have shaped my mindset in the best way.

So, as a Pilates instructor, PT & mum — here’s what I’ve learned you don’t need to move…

You don’t need the perfect gym, outfit, or hours of free time.

You don’t need your routine to look like someone else’s on social media.

And you definitely don’t need to put pressure on yourself to look, feel, or be a certain way — especially after having a baby.

You just need a moment to show up for you, however that looks.
Because movement isn’t about perfection — it’s about consistency, flexibility, and enjoyment (not punishment).
It’s about finding ways to make it work for you.

This is the kind of energy I want every woman to feel when it comes to movement — simple, fun, flexible, and real!
And it’s the inspiration behind the next chapter for Move (coming oh so soon!) 💛 by @movewith.lauren

“Imagine you’re gently pulling your lower ribs down toward your hip bones, like you are closing the space between them.”
- every instructor

Why do we use this cue?
(Especially in core exercises, four pointing & kneeling exercises…basically all exercises tbh)

Because it helps to;
~ activate the core muscles
~ keep spinal alignment
~ improve your core strength
~ make the exercise more effective
~ encourage pelvic stability
~ control your breath
~ move safely and prevent injury

In short, ensure you draw your belly button in towards your spine and engage through your T-zone + core muscles first. Then without arching or rounding your back or tucking your pelvis, focus on slowly pulling your lower ribs towards your hips.
This is a subtle movement but an effective one not to miss especially with all the benefits it will provide both to you and your workout! You’re welcome 🫶🏼

“You gave yourself years instead of 6 weeks”

To heal & rebuild a stronger, healthier version of me over the last 2 plus years — and slowly but surely, I am seeing myself progress in little ways.

So today, I took a second to look back and reflect on the journey I’ve been on (while working on a project for @_movecollective 🤫)

It hasn’t been quick or easy. There have been plenty of health hurdles along the way and a way to go. But I’ve learned to celebrate the small wins:
✨ Increasing my weights
✨ Adding an extra round
✨ Achieving exercises that felt impossible 2 years ago

What’s helped? Prioritising my health, carving out 30–40 minute workouts — whether that’s in our home gym or the lounge room — and following a program so I can stay consistent (even on the tired days when my brainpower is limited 🙃).

The pressure of the “bounce back” in only a short time after having a baby can feel oh so real. And I know for myself, I placed a lot of pressure to be further along at all stages of my journey.

In my experience — both personally and from working with so many women — that timeline of only a few weeks after 9 months of change isn’t realistic. More often, it leaves us feeling deflated.

It’s taken me over 2 years to rebuild my strength, reconnect with my body, and actually feel like me again. And truthfully, I’m still working on things. But you know what? That’s more than okay.

Motherhood isn’t a race to “bounce back.” It’s a journey of moving forward, healing, and discovering yourself in a whole new season.

So if it feels like it’s taking longer than you thought — here’s your reminder: you’re not behind. You’re doing amazing & I’m here to support and cheer you on wherever you are on your journey 🤍 by @movewith.lauren

Next to me 💗
Next to me climbing all over me.
Next to me asking for snacks.
Next to me wanting cuddles.

For a while, after becoming a mum of two, I stopped regularly going to Pilates classes. I worried about how my kids would behave, or whether I’d actually get a workout in.

Now that I’m back, I wish I never stopped because the thing is, every mum feels exactly the same. Some days we are humbled, others we feel like we achieved the world.

We all walk into class wondering if our kids will happily play, need us every five minutes, or spend the entire workout attached to us.
And the truth?
Nobody is judging you.

In fact, while my kids were running around and climbing all over me, nobody was paying any attention.

Because when it’s not your own child, you tend to tune it all out.

So if you’ve been thinking about coming to class but feel nervous about bringing your little ones, this is your sign.

Come anyway.
Move your body.
Do something for you xx

“It doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful. Showing up, even imperfectly, is what creates change 🤎”

This reminder from @georgiestevenson landed for me — even more so now as a mum.

Motherhood has shifted my mindset towards so many things, especially movement & work.
(which hasn’t been easy for a perfectionist with an all or nothing approach prior 😮‍💨😂)

No day looks the same.
But it feels good to show up for me — so I can show up better for everyone else.
And that’s all that counts.

If you needed this today, this is your reminder too 🤎

Now, off to be bossed around by this sassy girl and her many snack demands x by @movewith.lauren

As a time-poor mum, simple & effective workouts are a must — whether I’m moving in the lounge-room or our home gym.

Like the song says, “I only got 4 minutes” — especially when kids are present 😂

If I’ve learned anything through motherhood & movement, it’s this:
You don’t need 10+ exercises or a perfectly timed session to get stronger or a good workout.
Less really is more.

Focus on warming up, activating the right muscles, and gradually increasing your weights when you can 💛

Save this for your next upper-body & core session — 5 exercises done in 30 minutes!
