It’s a Friday and we start the year strong by celebrating Mphatlalatsane (Mphatli) Chuene Kekana.

Driven by her God-given purpose, a passion for service and her devotion to firm principles and values, Mphatli proudly lives out the meaning of her name, Venus, Bright Morning Star. With a resolute commitment to authenticity, balance, and uplifting others, Mphatli has dedicated her life to empowering others and making a meaningful impact in every sphere she touches.

Born in Limpopo and raised in Kuruman, Northern Cape, she excelled academically and in extracurricular activities. A high achiever, she graduated as the top student in her school and district and 13th in the Northern Cape.

Her academic journey continued at the University of the Witwatersrand, where she earned a degree in actuarial science. Today, Mphatli is a dynamic force in strategy consulting within the financial services sector. Guided by the value of balance, she masterfully juggles her faith, career, holistic wellbeing, and philanthropy.

Dedicated to shining her light and making a difference, Mphatli is also a digital content creator, sharing her passion for health, wellness, and body positivity. Through her online platforms, she inspires a growing community committed to living healthier, happier lives. Her authentic voice and relatable content empower others to prioritize well-being, embrace self-love and continuously improve themselves.

Philanthropy remains a cornerstone of Mphatli’s life. During her university years, she served as Chairperson of the School of Statistics and Actuarial Science Council and Secretary of the Faculty of Science. Her commitment to service continues in her workplace, where she leads and takes part in community-based projects aimed at uplifting underprivileged and marginalized groups.Looking ahead, Mphatli envisions expanding her philanthropic efforts to touch more lives and create lasting change.

An amalgamation of beauty, brains, passion, purpose Mphatli is not just a leader; she is a force for good, proving that with God, one can truly brighten the world.

If we are not honest about the problem, we will not be correct in our resolution.

The recent deaths of women in and around Kempton Park, and the devastating confirmation of Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo’s death after she went out for her routine run, have left many of us heartbroken, angry and afraid.

Our hearts are with Tsontso’s family and with every family mourning a woman whose life was taken from her.

We refuse to accept a South Africa where women have to choose between their freedom and their safety, and we will not rest until women can exist freely. by @mphatli_kekana
