Yesterday we ran the NYC Marathon and what a high. Thousands of screaming fans and rain for most of it made for a perfect combination.

I didn’t train this year like the past and was going to just be thrilled to finish, but where there’s a will there’s a way. I beat last years time by 40 seconds. THANK YOU GOD!

One year ago, I lost my best friend and didn’t know what to do.

Just like most things in life time heals all and I found my way to the @southamptonanimalshelteradopt where I met Mr. Bradley Cooper who is officially now just “Cooper”. In the little amount of time I’ve had this guy everything has completely changed for the better. I thought I wanted another cavalier King Charles as I was obsessed with the breed, but I also thought it was my duty this time around to help one in need.

They think Cooper (@mr.cooper2025 ) is a miniature golden retriever weighing just 22 pounds, but I’ve already sent off a DNA test so we shall soon see. He was found living in a park living off scraps and this was his second shelter he visited until he rescued me. From this moment on this dog‘s life will be forever changed and he will no longer have to worry about a thing!

Lola, today you would have 15 years old girl. Its been a few weeks since I lost you and I still have no idea what to do with myself. Nothing makes it better and I’ve never felt this kind of grief before. Without knowing it you played so many roles in my life from 6 weeks old living in LA until now living between NYC and the Hamptons and everywhere in between, but you didn’t care where we were as long as we were together my child. I look for you still from the time I wake up until I go to bed in all of your normal places even though I know you aren’t there. People say you never know love until you have a child, but most people will never understand the love I had for you as my best friend day in and day out.
God knew I couldn’t take losing you alone so he allowed us to go on one last road trip together to Tennessee for the holidays allowing family to be there with me through this. Lastly, they say all dogs go to heaven and I pray that part is true because if so you will be there awaiting me to continue the adventures with your tail wagging. I love you Lola thank you for being better than I ever deserved 🐾

Your text (picture 2) shows exactly who you are in all of your glory. You wanted your first tattoo, on your birthday, to be about me. What an amazing experience together that I’ll never forget! Today is #Nationaldogday and I don’t think anyone could be more obsessed over a 13lb runt that I’ve had for 13.5 years of greatness! Loyalty and companionship come in many forms, but in this case the dog gives more than she gets and I’m very grateful for her. Many a day I got through because of that wagging tail when I walked through the door. Here’s to many more cross country trips, flights, hikes, belly rubs, long walks, and best friend adventures.
