🚨Official Iranian television and Iranian news agencies are broadcasting a video warning citizens in case of a nuclear strike, along with several instructions for dealing with a nuclear explosion:

🔴 Do not look at the intense light of the explosion.

🔴 If you are outdoors and unable to immediately enter a building, take cover behind a barrier, lie down on the ground, and cover your head and face.

🔴 After the blast wave passes, enter the nearest building; do not stay to watch or take photos, and do not take shelter inside a car.

🔴 Inside the building, go to the basement or the center, away from windows and exterior walls.

🔴 Close doors and windows, and turn off the air conditioner or any ventilation that draws air from outside.

🔴 If exposed to the outdoor environment, remove outer clothing without shaking it off, place it in a sealed bag away from people, but do not go out to throw it away.

🔴 Wash with lukewarm water and soap, and use regular shampoo without conditioner; if showering is not possible, clean the face, hands, and exposed skin with water or wet wipes.

🔴 Use bottled water and packaged food, and prepare to stay in the shelter for at least 24 hours.

🔴 Do not assume the environment is safe after 24 hours; follow official announcements and emergency statements for the safe exit route.

🔴 If a fire breaks out in the building or its collapse is feared, move to a safer shelter.

🔴 Review these instructions with your family in advance to minimize damage. by @mr.zoecane954

She said it funny, but there’s a very real history behind the joke. 😭👀

American slaveholders absolutely used Christianity and selected Bible passages to justify slavery, obedience, and the system they benefited from. At the same time, enslaved Black people and abolitionists also used Christianity as a source of resistance and liberation. Frederick Douglass famously drew a sharp distinction between the Christianity practiced by slaveholders and the Christianity he believed Christ actually taught.

So for me, the conversation isn’t as simple as “Christianity = slavery.” It’s about how religion can be weaponized by people in power.

Because handing somebody a Bible while you’re actively oppressing them and then telling THEM to forgive YOU is some wild work. 😭😂

What y’all think? 👀👇🏾

Hollywood really looked at the future and said “robots, war, space… pick one.” 😭😂

This clip runs through how different movies imagined the years 2035 all the way into the 2100s — from I, Robot and Blade Runner 2049 to Prometheus and Ad Astra.

And just to be clear, these are fictional settings, not predictions… but 2035 is only 9 years away now. 👀😂

Which movie do y’all think came closest to what the future might actually look like?

⚖️ I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but I understand the lone juror in the Lindsay Clancy case.

Yes, the jury reportedly stood 11–1, but being outnumbered does not automatically make that one juror wrong.

Clancy admitted to killing her three children. The legal question was whether she was criminally responsible because of her mental state at the time. Her defense argued postpartum psychosis; prosecutors argued she understood what she was doing.

Three jurors later claimed the holdout acknowledged having reasonable doubt but still would not vote for a not-guilty verdict based on lack of criminal responsibility. That is their account of the deliberations, not a public statement from the holdout himself.

And this is where I disagree with the idea that he simply should have gone along with the other 11.

A juror is not there to vote with the majority. If he believed the evidence did not justify excusing criminal responsibility for the deaths of three children, then he had every right to stand on that conviction.

Sometimes being the only person in the room saying “no” is exactly what the jury system is designed to protect.

👇🏾 Do you respect the lone juror for standing firm, or do you think he ignored the legal standard?

🇭🇹🇩🇴 Now THIS is an interesting conversation for the island.

Dominican Congressman Julio César Beltré Méndez is pushing for Haitian Creole to be incorporated into the Dominican education system, arguing that Haiti and the Dominican Republic share an island, major economic ties, and daily interaction between their people.

Despite what the headline says, mandatory Creole classes have NOT been decided. Beltré says the country should debate whether Creole should be mandatory, introduced gradually, or prioritized in border communities. His proposal also calls for expanding English and French instruction.

Personally, I think knowing the language of the country you literally share an island with can be an economic and strategic advantage without changing anybody's nationality or culture.

🇳🇦🇺🇸 This is the part social media captions are leaving out.

U.S. Ambassador to Namibia John Giordano was denied entry to the National Fisheries Indaba in Walvis Bay, where Namibia’s president was already in attendance.

But according to Namibian officials, the ambassador’s attendance had not been confirmed, proper seating and security arrangements had not been made, and foreign ambassadors were not generally invited to the event. The presidency also says it did not organize the event or control admission.

Being an ambassador doesn’t automatically give you access to every government event in another country. Protocol and sovereignty still matter.

👇🏾 Proper protocol or diplomatic disrespect?

👀 This is one of those parts of American history that a lot of people were never taught.

Early LDS leaders promoted racial theories that linked Black people to the biblical “curse of Cain,” and Black men of African descent were barred from priesthood ordination until 1978. The church today explicitly disavows those racial teachings and condemns racism.

Polygamy is also part of early Mormon history. Plural marriage was practiced beginning in the 1840s, with the mainstream LDS Church beginning to end the practice through the 1890 Manifesto and prohibiting new plural marriages by 1904.

History doesn't need to be exaggerated to be uncomfortable.

👇🏾 Were you ever taught this part of Mormon history?

🇨🇺🇯🇲 Most people don’t know there is a part of Cuba where Jamaican and other West Indian culture is still alive more than 100 years later.

Beginning in the early 1900s, thousands of Jamaicans migrated to Cuba looking for work, especially in the sugar industry and around Guantánamo Bay. Many never returned home. Instead, they built families, churches, schools, lodges, and entire communities.

One of those communities is Baraguá, where there is still an area known as the Jamaican Quarter. 🏘️

And it wasn’t only Jamaicans. People from Barbados, Grenada, Antigua, St. Vincent, Nevis, and other Caribbean islands settled there too, creating a distinctly West Indian community inside Cuba.

What really caught my attention is how much of that culture survived.

🇯🇲 English was passed down through generations.
🏏 Cricket is still played in a country known for baseball.
🎀 Maypole traditions are still celebrated.
🌴 Caribbean customs survived long after the original immigrants were gone.

Today, thousands of their descendants are still there.

This is what happens when people build community instead of allowing distance and generations to erase where they came from.

The Caribbean diaspora goes much deeper than most of us were ever taught. Our people migrated, established communities, mixed cultures, and left pieces of home all over the world.

Now I’m curious:

👇🏾 Does your family have relatives who left Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba, another Caribbean island—or even the American South—and settled somewhere your family still talks about today? Where did they go?
