Mr Beatnick - Difference of Birds

Another favourite from Terra Arcana is out today.

Tucked away on the B-side, Difference of Birds shows a more futuristic, electro-tinged side of Nick’s sound and is a nice little taste of where the record goes beyond the first single.

Full LP lands October 9.

We’re very happy to announce Terra Arcana, the new album from one of London’s finest, @mr_beatnick, landing October 9.

Ten serene cuts spanning ambient, Balearic, electro, leftfield and beyond - made for getting lost in rather than fitting into any particular box.

The first single, Catania, is out today.

“Started writing this one on a holiday with friends in Catania.“

“Markets, cathedral steps, digging for records, an afternoon on the terraces with the Rossazzurri, lots of spritz and arancini.”

Every evening I’d sit with the Ableton Move and jam at the place we were staying. Came home a sketch, grew up on hardware. Sicilian sun, black volcanic stone, orange glow.”

The first single, Catania, is out today.

Hello @mr_beatnick 👋

We’ve been fans of Nick’s music for a minute — his 2012 *Sun Goddess* EP was a go-to record at many of our label nights in Berlin and still brings back good memories from a bygone era. We’ve since had the pleasure of working with Nick on a few occasions, and are always impressed by what he brings to the table.

A highly respected London producer, DJ and longtime NTS resident, Nick Wilson has spent the past two decades exploring the more curious corners of electronic music — moving freely between house, ambient, dub, jazz and everything in between, with releases on Don’t Be Afraid, Tief, Far Out Recordings and his own Mythstery imprint along the way.

There’s always been a shared curiosity in the way we approach music, so it feels good to cross paths again.

His new single *Catania* drops this Wednesday.
