Say “all-white kitchen” to most people and you get one of two faces. Bored, or already tired from picturing the cleanup.

This is a couple’s cottage, and the whole point of it is a full house. Grown kids, grandkids, everyone at once. So, along with @waveinteriors, we went white anyway and gave it plenty to hold onto: old beams with the knots still showing, brass, a stone with green running through it, and a banquette covered in flowers because nobody under ten has ever loved a beige cushion.

The half of the island closest to the stools is wood. That’s where the toast and the jam and the elbows go. A mark on wood just looks lived in.

It’s a very white kitchen. It’s also very ready for a four-year-old with toast.

Prepping for pour.

So much work goes into a board form foundation - there’s no margin for error - you have to have the right team to pull it off.

And team we’ve got. 🤘

We’re back! Please come out this Saturday, November 29th, between 9am and 2pm at 2454 Creighton St for our annual Tree Drive for Parker St Food Bank!

All cash proceeds go directly to Parker St and assist in filling out holiday hampers with items not usually donated. So please swing by, donate what you can, take home a tree, and help Parker St put together a better holiday season for those in need.

And a HUGE THANK YOU to all the local North End businesses that are helping us promote the event this year:

I had the privilege to travel back to Halifax again to close out the exterior mural season with this special project last week. This city is awesome. I love the food, the vibes, the people, and can't wait to visit again. Absolutely battled the weather though. From rain to freezing temperatures, nature made sure this project was down to the wire.

This mural features a black and white portrait of a local man named Graham, who was often seen biking and driving around the North-End of Halifax. He was known for rocking his iconic hardhat & sombrero headwear, and was always moving something from one place to another. Graham now stands tall, watching over the neighborhood, and represents all the special characters of the area.

A special shout-out and thank you to Mike, who went above and beyond for me on this one. Him and his MRB team were super accommodating, and he even recreated Grahams headware to help me create the most accurate mock-up. These small details really bring the piece together in a big way.

Sometimes a ceiling is just a ceiling… that’s not the case at our IP project, these ceilings are full of craft and swagger, just like everyone that had a part in brining them to life.
