A real man does exactly what he says he’s going to do… nothing more and for certain nothing less.

As I sit here and write this I understand one thing for certain and I wish to share it with you.

Being a person of character is, without question, the most valuable thing that you could possibly ever do in your life.

Once you understand this, everything else has the opportunity, and ironically will, start to fall into place.

I read a quote a while back and it has stuck with me ever sense “ my father didn’t tell me how to live; he lived and let me watch him do it.” And it has resonated with me ever since.

Being a dad and a husband has really given me the perspective to value and cherish different things as I have grown as a man.

Confidence is an earned attribute that comes from keeping promises to yourself… and to those that matter to you the most.

For my young parents or aspiring parents out there… Id like to offer you advice that has helped shape me and has greatly improved my life.

Your children are always watching, don’t forget to show up for them. Remember, the apple does not fall far from the tree. The reason society is off right now is because we are setting a below average example for our children and they are simply following through. Lead by Example in all aspects of your life and be constant in reevaluating your standards. More Love, more communication, more Faith, more open struggle and most importantly MORE STANDARD. Every great relationship I have in my life was forged through holding a higher standard for each other with a common mission as the goal…the same will go for your children and your marriage if you so choose. Your job is not to just simply accept them for who they are but rather challenge them into what they potentially could become. With that being said, what I have learned in my short time is that everything that is worth having in life can not be bought but it certainly can be earned as long as you’re willing to work for it. Im not telling you its easy but rather that it is worth it.

Less talking, more doing.

Happy birthday to the most beautiful, loving wife, mother, and friend I could ever imagine.

Racquel, I couldn’t imagine living this life with anybody else but you. Almost 17 years on this journey together, and when I look back I’m just in awe of how blessed we’ve been.

God gave us three beautiful children, an amazing marriage, and a life I never could have dreamed up on my own. None of it would be possible without you.

Racquel, I love you. I’m forever grateful that God gave me you, and I’m thankful we get to do this thing called life together.

Both Good and Great are a decision.

It’s a choice.

But the decision to be great isn’t one massive action done every once in a while.

It’s doing a little bit extra every single day, consistently, over a long period of time, knowing the investment you make will pay off.

Just like any other investment, allowing compounding interest or time to do the work.

Most people try hard for a little while, take a few big swings, and quit when the results don’t show up. But the reality is, that’s not how it works.

The equation is simple, but the commitment can be a challenge.

Every day we have to choose to be Good or Great.

I read a quote a while back that stuck with me:

“The economy will change, but you only get 18 summers with your kids.”

Only 18.

When you really stop and think about that, it’s crazy. And now that we’re more than halfway through those 18 summers, I can tell you one thing… it goes A LOT faster than you think.

So this summer, we made it a point to make memories, live life, and take a few pictures along the way.

Summer Smash. Enzo’s birthday trip to DC. Costa Rica. The World Cup. And plenty of little moments in between.

Racquel and I decided a long time ago that we weren’t going to sit back and watch life go by. We were going to LIVE it. And this summer, we tried our best to do exactly that.

This has been such an amazing stage of life, and the goal has been pretty simple:

You’re going to be dead a long time… so you better get busy living while you’re here.

Make the trip. Take the pictures. Create the memories. Be present for the moments that someday you’d give anything to have back.

I truly believe I’m the most blessed man in the world. My wife, my kids, my family, my friends, my career… God has been incredibly good to me.

And one thing I’ve learned along the way is that life has a funny way of working out for the people who are willing to make things work.

Life is meant to be lived.

Everyone “WANTS” to win. That’s their intention.

But wanting it doesn’t mean anything if your actions don’t match.

The idea of success sounds great until the work gets hard. Until it gets inconvenient. Until you’re tired, frustrated, and tempted to take the easy way out.

That’s where the separation happens.

Winners aren’t the ones who think about winning. They’re the ones who show up and do what it takes every damn day.

So ask yourself… are you just “wanting” it, or are you “working”for it?

Life lately…

Just grateful.

Grateful for the opportunity to lead.
Grateful for the responsibility that comes with it.
Grateful I get to do work that challenges me every single day.

But more than anything…

Grateful for what’s waiting on me at home.

A wife who’s in my corner.
Kids who remind me what actually matters.
Moments that don’t show up on a calendar
but end up meaning the most.

None of this is by accident.

It’s built through long days, hard conversations,
and a commitment to show up when it’s not easy.

And I don’t take that lightly.

So I’m going to keep doing the work.
Keep showing up.
And keep appreciating the position I’ve been put in.

Not entitled to it.

Just thankful for it. 👊🏼

Accountability isn’t about tearing people down. It’s about building them up.

I make mistakes every single day just like you. I don’t want to be yelled at when I mess up and you probably don’t either.

What I do want…

Is someone who’s willing to sit down and have a real conversation. Even when it’s uncomfortable. Especially when it’s about standards.

Because standards matter.

And too many leaders think holding people accountable kills morale. It doesn’t.

Lowering the standard kills morale. Ignoring problems kills morale. Letting things slide kills morale.

What actually builds morale…

Clarity, consistency, knowing what’s expected and being shown how to meet it.

Not yelling. Not avoiding hard conversations. Not negotiating with the standard.

You hold the line. But you lead people through it. You teach them. You guide them. You develop them.

Because the goal isn’t just to correct behavior… It’s to build better people.

And better people build better teams.

11 years ago, Summer Smash was supposed to be nothing more than a company backyard BBQ.

300 Golden Ticket holders, a few games, and an eating contest that resulted in someone needing the Heimlich on stage. (True story.) And for the record, she tried to get back into the contest afterward. 😂😂😂

But we believed.

And those customers believed.

They believed in a vision of building something special.

Back then, we talked about “We Over Me” as a fitness philosophy. In reality, it was always bigger than fitness. It was about community, service, and putting something greater than ourselves first.

Today, thousands of people travel from all over the world to spend three days together as a Phamily.

The event has gotten bigger, but the mission remains the same:

Leave the world better than we found it.

What Summer Smash represents is what we’ve believed from day one.

When you invest in people, do the right thing, build meaningful relationships, and stay committed to the vision, growth becomes inevitable.

The problem is most people want what takes 10 years to build in 10 months.

It doesn’t work that way.
You have to let the cake bake.
You have to keep showing up.
You have to keep serving.
You have to keep caring.

Day after day. Month after month. Year after year.

What you’re seeing today isn’t the result of one great event. It’s the result of thousands of ordinary days stacked on top of each other by people who believed in something bigger than themselves.

I’m grateful for every person who has attended, supported, volunteered, worked, and contributed to making Summer Smash what it is today.

It’s more than an event.

It’s proof that when enough good people commit to a mission, extraordinary things can happen.

If you’ve attended, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

Thank you for believing in us, believing in the mission, and being part of this journey.

There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude for every one of you who makes 1st Phorm so damn special.

I love you guys.

There is nothing inspiring or impactful about victim mentality.

Remember, people dont write books about the LOWS… they write books about the journey and the pathway towards success.

In today’s social landscape It’s very easy to fall into the trap of blaming circumstances or others for our setbacks. But here’s the truth: embracing a victim mentality only holds YOU back from reaching your true potential.

When we constantly see ourselves as victims, we relinquish our power to change our situations. Instead of focusing on what’s wrong or who’s to blame, shift your mindset towards taking ownership of our lives and figuring out what can you do right now to get better.

Setbacks are going to happen but remember… your ultimate success comes from the decisions that you make in those setbacks to choose to be resilient, determined, and a believe in our very own ability to overcome the challenges we face.

You must learn to choose to see these obstacles as opportunities for growth otherwise they will always hold you back.

So, I challenge you… today, to start writing your own success story.

No more poor me…

You have the power to create the life you want BUT only if you choose to accept that responsibility.

Winning isn’t for everyone, remember that.
