Wars Of Armageddon Karaoke - by far the hardest and most outrageous competition we asked our Funkolympians to participate in. Everyone went to battle and knocked it out the park. Thanks to participants for their soul and bravery. More power to the people! #records #detroit #recordstore #maggotbrainolympics taken in Street Corner Music by @mrlemmycaution

Funakdelic - Maggot Brain (2026 Remaster)
I think it was a little over five years ago when I said “and they have to be all analog” to the Westbound Records team while discussing a reissue series that was at the time just an idea. Flash forward to the release day for Funkadelic’s Maggot Brain and wow has it be a journey. We wouldn’t be here without the hard work of an incredibly dedicated group of people… Andrew at Org Records has patiently guided this process with me and addressed every possible detail and angle with extreme care and patience. He also brought Dave Gardner and Catherine Vericolli into the fold to do a herculean archeological investigation and then brilliantly handle the original master tapes with the love and care and fanatical attention to detail they deserved. Everyone behind the scenes at Westbound (Sarah, Jennifer and the indispensable Nick King) also worked magic to make this happen. I couldn’t be more proud of this one!

Join us Thursday September 10th at 7pm for an advance listening party to celebrate Org Music’s reissue of Funkadelic’s seminal Detroit classic 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘉𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯. We’re going to play the all analog, remastered album in its entirety. Then DJs Chances With Wolves, Fabian Halabou and Rich Hansen will take over for a set of psychedelic soul, funk and other out there selections. There will also be a pop-up shop with copies of Maggot Brain, other releases from Org’s Westbound reissues series as well as exclusive merch.
Can you get to that?? by @mrlemmycaution

Come One, Come All to the First Annual Maggot Brain Olympics!
To celebrate the release of the Org Music and Westbound Records glorious new reissue of Funkadelic’s Maggot Brain, Street Corner Music will be hosting the first annual Maggot Brain Olympics. A one of a kind, three-part, judged event that will test even the most hardcore funkateer’s funkfortitude.

There will be prizes, trophies and to the ultimate victor a coveted test pressing of the new reissue. We’ll also be blasting Maggot Brain and other related jams all night.
