Back in the Emerald Isle, DJing alongside @stephenflynn_ at Hang Dai, looking forward to taking another @hatchett_sound install for a spin. This Saturday 5th Sep @hangdaichinese by @mrmasters88
A post service test of another DJR 400 on the Garage Floor. Playing a track from TLC mixed by @cjmackintosh. If you were lucky enough to be in London at the Ministry in the 90s, CJ would play this to great affect in the bar room, happy times 💕 For the Vinyl heads, only Diggers ISO Alcohol is used for cleaning PCBs, a classic AUS brand. A few issues with this unit, all the RCA sockets were changed, 2 x transistors an RK27 and some new Oak timber panels were added. As always, the Garage Floor gets a work out. #rotarymixer #djr400 #ministryofsound by @mrmasters88
When you service a lot of boutique rotary mixers and enjoy macro photography, there is a whole new world to discover hiding in plain sight. At first appearance with the knobs still on, the surface just appears dusty. Remove the knobs and add intense side lighting to discover a completely hidden ecosystem. This particular E&S DJR400 rotary mixer was on my workbench for a full service and maintenance. Wait until you see the mysterious creature living under the potentiometers knobs. Is it time to deep-clean your gear Let me know what you think this critter is in the comments! 👇 @electronique.spectacle @mixersinside #rotarymixers #rotarymixer #djr400mixer #analogdj by @mrmasters88
The full 2.5h set from my night @fidelitydublin is finally up loaded. Re-mastered to capture that night playing on my mixer on @hatchett_sound little creation. Lovely stuff 💕 Mixcloud link in profile icon Featuring music from @virg.vision The sublime mix by @mrtonydraper of Mick Roach & @flyingmojitobros @emotional_recordings @mungolianjetset @yinyinband @flamingopier @chris.joss.official @donnybenet @boysshorts_ @shookmusic @younggunsilverfox @ccdisco @cottonbudmedia @bent_always @baxterdury and many other gems. Shout out to the birthday girl that night, who requested Solomon, I invited her into the booth, plugged in the IPhone to the mixer and faded it in towards the end of the night. A little output transformer warmth added. Big thanks to @andrew_externalsounds and @smanni0n for the lush tunes at the start. 💕 Also the delicious food by @sisterseven_bigfan this really set the tone for the rest of the night.🙏 Lastly @hatchett_sound and @manningstagram for making it happen 💕 Thanks to @gregbishopdrums for the video and pics . Til next time… #fidelitydublin #rotarymixer by @mrmasters88
Taking it back to last year’s official bio mix for @electricpicnic Treasure Beach 2025. This marked my first upload to Mixcloud, it’s a short 30-minute trip engineered for the Stradbally woods. Thanks to @wsoftly Recorded on Custom analog mixer design. 32-bit DACs. Iron-core output transformers for that essential harmonic glue. Starting with a re-dubbed Prince Fatty ‘Black Rabbit’, we trip through Cornell Campbell, Horace Andy, and The Far East, before landing with Combo Lulo. And a little magic from Japan’s slowly and the rocksteady of Pit Baumgartner.. Link in Bio to revisit the full analog experience on Mixcloud. #electricpicnic @trenchtownirieland @princefattyofficial @thefareastnyc @combo_lulo @pit.baumgartner @slowlysound by @mrmasters88
MasterSounds Radius 4v:2024 PSU Restoration A technical look back at this 2024 repair. The unit suffered a PSU failure during a blackout, with blow buck regulator and failed diodes. It was a joy to work on this mixer and get a close up of Andy’s work. From the initial failure to the glow of those valves and the dancing VU meters, bringing it back to life was a pleasure. Gratitude for the technical backup of Andy Rigby Jones @unionaudio for the circuit details and Kamil @dot.mixer for buck regulator data-sheets #rotarymixer #mastersounds #unionaudio by @mrmasters88
Bozak Ant Heaven. Another Bozak CMA 10-DL mixer service. This unit spent years between Bali and Sydney, and when it hit the bench, it was clear the “booth” was still packed. I found a select guestlist of ants huddled on the ALPs potentiometers. The mystery remains how they made it in. Did they sneak through the RCA “back door” or march in through the XLR entrance? Either way, they stayed until the lights came up. Full teardown to remove years of mold and biological debris. Pot knobs were given an Ultrasonic Bath to bring back the shine. The Signal Path: Full replacement of the rear RCA sockets, corrosion was too deep for the bath. New pots installed and a partial recap where needed to ensure the music can shine. Honored to add my service mark (Nov 2025) next to Mario G’s 2009 stamp. Slide 1 Catching 8 hours of direct UV to clear any remaining mould spores before she’s boxed back up. From throwing Hi-Fi parties in London and Sydney to designing my own mixers in Sydney, I’ve always been obsessed with the signal path. When I’m not at the bench, I’m behind decks. #rotarymixer #bozak #mixerrepair #djgear by @mrmasters88
