My first book 'A Vortex of Securocrats' was published by @cttb_fiction The Bone publications, for which I am eternally grateful.

Author/filmmaker Zak Ferguson @sweatdrenchedwrit
at Sweat Drenched Press put together this little trailer for the book. I think he did an exceptional job and I thank him for this.

Sadly I can't join @koloboknoise for their gig tonight in Drogheda but them and @chimp.osg were astonishing in QUB last night. These will have to do for the time being. #nowlistening🎧 #nowreading #noiserocknow #angularhardcore taken in Belfast City, Ireland by @mrowens212

Holy shit!

I discovered Venom in 2006 via Killing Joke.

A review of Hosannas... compared it to Venom (bit off) but it made me track down Welcome to Hell and Black Metal. Two astonishing records that blurred the lines between Iron Maiden and Discharge. Later records were more miss than hit, but this year's 'Into Oblivion' is actually a great record so at least they went out on a high.

Nowadays they've been superseded by a multitude of bands, and seeing footage of them on the live circuit was akin to watching Gene Vincent opening up for Black Sabbath: you could appreciate the lineage but it was still a sad sight.

Regardless, they changed music for the better with their first two records and praise will always be forthcoming from me.

Lest we forget.

Since it's been announced that James Williamson (Creation Books) has died, it's odd that I rediscovered this on my shelves. #creationbooks #addictioninfilm

I am delighted to announce that I'll be in attendance at this year's PMF Prague Microfestival.

In their own words "PRAGUE MICROFESTIVAL (PMF) is an annual festival fusing contemporary writing, art, film, theory, dance, music & performance in a rich polylogue of forms. PMF is not only an arts space but remains integrated within local Prague culture, as a multilingual environment fostering critical cultural dialogue. The PMF originated as the successor of the Prague International Poetry Festival (2004) — which welcomed readings from more than 40 writers, over 20 countries — & was founded by Louis Armand with Pam Brown, Phil Hammial, & David Vichnar."

The focus of this year's PMF is the ideologies & aesthetics of ERASURE / ERASURISM. I'll be reading at it as well as selling copies of my works.

New book due out on Friday 26th February 2027.

It's Christmas Day. Our subject has missed the last bus to Derry and will subsequently be spending the day alone. Things can't be that bad, can they?

Combining mundanity and surrealism, pathos and humour as well as ruminating on how his life has turned out, it'll be a Christmas Day that won't be forgotten in a hurry.
